Hello there eveyone,
After much debate and mind chaning on my part, ive decided on ethag.
Now he may not be one of legions top notch casters, i want that model.
Pretty much my whole list is made up of models i'd like to own.
Xmas is just under a week away, and this army is a couple days after that.
Not sure of my lgs hours. (so figuring sunday)
that leaves me with 11pts, i wanted too add another unit of warmongers & wc.(that too much?), Im not a big fan of the rest of the units except maybe legionnaires.
If i go beasts , sheppards would be needed too.
***bangs head on keyboard****
also since im new, i know i'd need bokks and what not, but mkII is just around the corner should i wait until army's painted?

E-Thag is one of legions best warlocks. And he is no infantry warlock :-).
What I liked with him:
How this list works:
Dragons blood on the legionnaries. If one gets killed you get vengance, an incubi and your opponent gets a damage point a 5-6.
The Forsaken can help with your fury managment while your both beasts deal damage with Manifest destiny up. Sprays are great with Thagrosh and you can get even a casterkill with 4 Typhoon sprays, Thagroshs Spray and 2 Carnivean Sprays (because of the Feat and manifest destiny).
Shredder with the Feat are fun, too.

I always play eThag, and I basically only use warbeasts. Lists have basically been this..
15 pt game..
35 pt game...
The reason for these beast only lists is that eThags feat is all about warbeasts. The turn you have all your beasts run/charge/ full advance, you then get an additional movement thanks to the feat and an attack. This means you can generally move eThag up close enough to the enemy to spray and probably make a target or two stationary, making it easy to take out key targets.
The mass number of shredders and other beasts are going to be placed in locations that force the enemy to deal with them so that he can not get at eThag that turn.
By the time his round ends half of your army should be dead but plenty should be left to win.
This all works because of his feat, though you like the warmongers apparently because they are cool models, unless you play a lot higher game, its not really worth useing them when you have a warcaster like eThag who has a feat, an amazing spell buff (Manifest destiny) and shredders. Since MD and shredders rabid works during the feats movement and attack, they really zoom around and will generally do decent damage to whatever they hit.
This is just one of many strats of course, and I suggest playing some proxy games with your friends if they will allow it so you can try different lists and units.
Over all though I think a majority of players will tell you that warmongers are not the more ideal units, legionnaires and incubi being a better use of points if you dont want to try the beast only list.

I have to agree with the assessment that eThag is better run beast heavy, although I think there is a balance to be struck between running some infantry and solos and beasts with him. The bigger issue, and the most important one I think, is balancing your ability to remove swarms of enemy troops and still having the killing power to wipe out the enemy's beasts and heavy jacks.
At 35 points, I usually run the following list:
Striders + UA
Use the Striders and Deathstalker to tear up the opponent's infantry, then fall back and draw them into my beasts. If they don't want to take the bait, the Striders rake them with arrows, combining their ranged attacks to build up enough power to chop off chunks of heavy beasts and jacks. Overall, Warmongers are better with pThag, but eThag tends to want tough, powerful beasts, and then some way of removing a large number of enemy troops. Warmongers tend to serve the same 'big unit' crushing roles as his beasts, and in my opinion aren't really ideal until you get to very large point size games.
