i applaud them for trying, but as a graduate in marketing, and seeing things from past experience i would like to offer my opinion of the bundle. I applaud privateer press for the effort and understand if they wanted to offer a bundle in a way that would help them, but not hurt the local retailer.

the problem I saw however and did not mention till now is the fact that while they did offer unique items for free, the bundle idea they came up with just did not seam attractive enough to those of us who did not see the value in it. To me the purpose of a bundle is to combine different items into one package and charging a discount on the total package. Good examples of this can be seen in how the xbox360/kinect and PS3/move bundles are offered to the customer.

The problem with the bundle offered by Privateer Press is the fact that they did not offer a monetary discount, but free items that people who did not buy the bundle saw no value in. Again, assuming your statement is true, I would have tried to find a way to offer a discount on the product instead of giving away free items that people might find no value in. The other problem with the bundle offer that I saw is the fact that the only way for people to find out about it was for them to already know about the game, and most of those people already have armies.

I could be completely missing the mark with my assessment as well since such information would be considered confidential to Privateer Press.
THE ABOVE IS NOT MEANT TO BE RUDE TO MY FAVORITE GAME COMPANY, but is only meant to be constructive.

The Bundle packs weren't really a "sale", they were faction bundle packs with some extras thrown in (tokens, exclusive dice, etc).

The sale is/was on other stuff (old fiction, etc)

As I heard it from the PPS, it was less intended as a 'save lots of money' promotion, and more a 'I don't know what to buy' promotion. They said it wasn't really directed at experianced players, and more towards family/friends looking to buy gifts.

that only people who, would buy the bundles(sale) are people who are completely new to the game. granted it was a small savings for new players because of the dice, tokens, and measuring tape. to the rest of us we can find everything on other sites for a lot less. i found i could get each faction "bundle" for 60+ less else where.

on a side note how would people know to check the site it relies on the distributer to tell the costumers about it. why wait the 2 weeks to get it from pp when you can get it there at you local shop. just saying
