Well, unless I book a flight I'll not be able to go to walmart, but what interests me is the quality of the product? I mean, crappy terrain just makes people sad :(

Could you post the brand name(s) and product descriptions for the items you are mentioning? Some of us prefer not to patronize Wal-Mart. I'd like to be able to look for these products at other locations.

Yes, what area of the store might these jewels be found in? Are they excess Christmas decor? A craft item? A toy?

I second Not Dice's sentiment.

I'll third that! Chances are the product is Wal-Mart only as they import the crap right out of China, but there is a chance that Michael's Lemax line could be a great (and comparable) after X-mas terrain buy.

What section of walmart are you even talking about. Christmans overstock, toys I dont think they have a wargameing terrain section yet....yet..
Go to the Christmas section. The trees should be 50% off...now 50 cents. They're simply green wire brushes, like the one's for toliet scrubbers, straightened and trimmed to look like a pine tree on a wooden base. Nothing exciting but this is Walmart we're talking about and they are 50 cents. I suggest going to Michaels and checking out their Christmas stock. You can get a bag of trees, something like 20 trees, for now $8-10 (50% off). They come in three different sizes and are flocked with snow and all are shaped like pine trees. They are MUCH nicer and realistic looking.

This is Wal-Mart's knockoff brand that is exactly like the Lemax stuff from Michaels. I was eyeing them before xmas. They would indeed be in the xmas clearance section.

If you go to Home Depot, the exact same Lemax trees that are $15 at Michaels are $5.99. No sale or anything, they are priced like that from the start. Michaels just screws you because they are a "craft" store.

I can confirm that Michael's has the Lemax trees at 60% off. ($6.28? ea)
I just snatched up two bags of 21 trees each for the Adepticon terrain project I'm working on.
Hopefully I'll be posting some test pix using these trees today or tomorrow, (they are pretty bright green and I may respray them).
