As a non-gator, non-pig player who likes other minion units, is there anything that makes the book worth while to buy? Other than being the last book I need of course.

Thrullg and Croak Hunter.
Everything else is either a Mk.I model or a gator or pig.

from what i have read spoiled on another forum, the fluff sounds awesome.

It's a good book, but, honestly, if I weren't a minion player, I wouldn't have bought it.
The short story is quite good, although it does't include other factions (it's a pig vs gator battle). It's one of the most brutal and gory short story I have read coming from PP, and it really gives a good idea of how feral the two minion pacts act like (they both have "military" and "social" structures that are quite animal-like).
Then you have a presentation of relations between minions and every other Hordes army (nothing very surprising here fluffwise).
Presentations of both pacts are a bit more interesting (blindwater in particular).
The big let down, fo me, is in the presentation of individual models. Fluff blurbs are sometimes quite short (Calaban, for example), or simply don't say much that we did not expect (Arkadius).
And finally, the minions gallery and painting tips are what you would expect if you already have the other books.
I have yet to read everything, though, so there might be some surprises/changes in fluff in the individual models presentation I have not seen.

Well, tier lists have been spoiled a few days ago on the focus and fury website.

I am just glad I don't have to troll the Merc forums to find out something about Minions.
Do the Farrow or Gators have accents? Or do they even talk in the fluff?

I totally hear a heavy Creole accent when ever I play my Gators.

They do talk, but unfortunately there are no mentions of accents or words spelled in such a way as to suggest it. The gators only speak among themselves though, so to outsiders it may very well sound like they do.

is it just me or are the calaban tiers just crap? tier 4 is counter to tier 3 since none of wrongeyes beasts will be in calabans battlegroup. its just asking to take a ton of warbeasts for no reason...
barnabs isnt bad though.

The Minion tierlists overall are very lackluster, honestly. I really couldn't tell you which is the best one; I'm tempted to just say Caliban's because of access to Farrow Bone Grinders, but is that really a fair tradeoff for loss of the Totem Hunter and Thrullg?
I did have a chance to thumb through the book today though, and while there's a couple of things that bug me (Caliban's entry doesn't say much, and I was very disappointed that Arkadius' entry doesn't go into detail about his past since that was one of the main things I was looking forward to reading about) it was a pretty good read overall.

does it say anything about Arkadius' involvement with the Legion from the Legion book?

No I said it to... only T4 is any good since all the rest are crap really... He can take bonegrinders so you do not get blindwater bonuses... I am not even going to talk about the rest its jest that bad.. poor WE he gets bogged down hardcore in this tier.
Barnabus is funny though cause as Calaban does not get Blindwater bonuses Barnabus's tiers jest give him MORE of what blindwater already gives. Giving you a possible 100 point list off jest GMP and have a river flowing threw the 20" mark of your side of the table :P

Just so you guys understand:
You run either a Theme list OR a Minion Pact.
You cannot have a Tier 3 Barnabas list and still get the benefits of Blindwater. It is one or the other. Same for Thornfall. Same for Merc Themes vs. Contracts.

Arkadius's feat makes him viable. Its hard to argue with 7 point War Hogs.

Any new and exciting art for units from the Mk1 books, besides the kick *** Totem Hunter from Mk2? How ist the art in general, is it all with super strong colours (like the Trollblood warlocks) or is there something new in the vein of the Swamp Gobber art (which I LOVE)?

I think that was my biggest disapointment from the FOH: Minions book. I wanted Cajun Gators! Ones that spouted stereotypical nonsensities like "who go der mon?" Or "dat der dun gud up, yah!" Or "Bad who-do gon mo bad nah!". The only other thing I would'e liked to see was a tip of the hat to Animal Farm with the Farrow. A battle cry of "2 legs bad. 4 legs good!" But, as Lord Carver said above, the stories are writen from their perspective, and I doubt THEY think they have accents.
