Can Thorn cast telekinesis on himself to get out of combat with no free strikes?

No.
But Epic Haley can cast Telikinis through his arc node to telekinesis him out of Combat with no Free strike.

I may be totally wrong here but wasn't there something about arconedy jack not being able to target himself (or his caster targeting him through his arcnode) in mk I?

You can't channel an offensive spell at the channeling arc node. You can target the arc node with non-offensive spells just fine.
Since eHaley is our only caster with Telekinesis, she can channel it through Thorn to extract him from melee (and then he get's his reaction drive too).

Thorn can not cast TK.
eHaley, the only caster in cygnar with that spell, is allowed to arc it through Thorn even while it is engaged, and placement effects ignore free strikes.
Models are not allowed to target itself with an offensive spell, TK is not an offensive spell when cast on a friendly model, so the caster can cast it on herself, arc it on herself, arc it on the node, arc it on a friendly, so on.
Reemule's no seems a little confusing.

Due to the fact that it is offensive when targeting enemy models, but not otherwise, to write it out.

To clear things up for the OP, since everybody seems to be making this more complicated than it should be...
YES. It's just not Thorn who is casting the spell.
