How can Gators or Pigs deal with top tier lists?

So with the release of the minion book I decided to use them for my LGS's warmachine league and I've become stuck on a single problem. How do I utilize my gators, or even pigs, to counter top tier choices like eGaspy? I specifically am focusing on eGaspy due to the fact that in this league he has already shown up as a pre-eminent choice.

So suggestions? Experiences? Anything?

well Arkadious tier is just amazing 1 point of warhogs yes please, then calabans is great for him because of those bonegrinders that plus 2inches realy helps him out though barnabous tier is a little lack luster because haveing to get rid of those solos realy hurts and carvers isnt bad cheaper brigands never hurt. Their isnt to much minions right now with them haveing so ew choices but arkadious tier is probably your best bet

Though I have very little knowledge of eGaspy, I would have to say that if you're play farrow against Cryx, you're in for quite the uphill battle.
If the Cryx player is smart and plays incorporeal models, you'll find that you have an incredibly hard time even touching him, as Farrow have (none except for Carver?) in terms of magical weapons. However, if they decide to bring meat that you can cleave through, then a wall of brigands would be difficult for them to deal with. I don't play competitively very often, but every time I've played my pigs, I've noticed that 2 full units of Brigands and 2 War Hogs under Carver are even harder than certain troll lists to deal with. Hell, 2 full units of brigands have out lasted a Borka champ bubble.

Play defensively, but try to get the charge first; and once you have it, go balls to the wall with everything you have. However, always try to keep a trump card, like a War Hog, in reserve. If you can destroy his army and he destroy yours, but you still have a war hog active with Carver, and your opponent has little, then that War Hog may be able to lead you to victory.

Gators? No idea. Flying circus over undead and squish the enemy caster? Sevwall could probably give good advice here.

I've been playing the pigs exclusively sence Dr. Arkadius came out. I've played in 3 steamrollers, placing 3rd in one, and in each one maintaining a 2-1 record, and various other pick up games.

What it comes down to is a faction with some 20 choices counting both sides isn't going to deal well with factions that have perhaps 70 choices, between in faction and merc/minion choices.

I've only been tabled with Dr. Ark once. It was by a Cygnar player with Darius and a bunch of Centurions. I've never been tabled with Carver.

So the only time we are going to have strong matchups in this game is when the opponent is deciding to leave our hard match up in his faction at home.

Except Gators as a Thornfall. Carver cleans gators out. No waiting.

Well, I play Gators, and Cryx. eLich being one of my favorite casters for cryx.

You are looking at an uphill battle for sure. Cryx have troubles with high defense, so keep iron flesh on your units or Barnabas. Hit them hard, or even run and completely surround Gaspy, his feat only allows the stuff to come back within 3" of him, if you can close a lot of that area off, it hurts. Also, the models coming back MUST charge, so sometimes you can exploit that as well.
