So I'm playing a game right now and this came up. When I cast psycho surgery, do I roll a d3+1 ffor each individual model, or is it one roll for everyone and that's it?

The spells wording literally says "EACH model in this model's battlegroup" so I've always played it that you roll for each

Although now that I think about it, if it had said EVERY model, it would be more definitive that they would ALL heal from one roll. So I stand by my interpretation.

Hrm, I'm curious now too. I've been interpreting it the other way; that you roll d3+1 and that's what they *all* heal...

I've rolled for each model. Rereading the card, I'm going to stand by that interpretation.

I dunno, IMO its one roll... at least to me i figure it would say FOR each model, not just each model. Its a good question though.

yeah the people i was playing with couldnt decide wich way it was suppossed to be either. i feel like this is a pretty important rule to get clarrified though

Should probably post this in the rules section asking, maybe an infernal will respond since this is fairly important

i have always seen it as one roll for everything.

I was 100% sure it was one roll for all... then I read it again and wasn't so sure any-more lol.

I just pulled out my book and read it...

The wording is kind of vague, but I personally would interperate it as each beast gets a separate roll.

I'd definite drop this one over to the rules question boards...

There are already 2 threads in the rules forum about this same topic... It isn't clear, so in the mean time best to agree with your opponent how it will work during the game and hopefully there will be a ruling soon...

yeah i posted one of them there after i made this thread. this might not be too important, but id still like an offical ruling on it =/

That's what I mean - it needs an official ruling because it isn't clear from the ability itself. For now though, agree with your opponent, because it will likely be several months before there is official clarification.

Actually, something like this is rather important, because it has the potential to change the outcome of games.

I think several of us should keep checking those threads, and *BUMP* them with legitimate responses. That should catch the attention of the Infernals, thus speeding up a solution. I'm going to go check them now...

I vote roll for each model separately. If they meant a single roll to heal all models the rule would probably have read something like, "Roll 1d3+1; all members of Arkadius's battlegroup currently in his control area immediately heal that many damage boxes," or something to that effect. Other effects that impact more than one model with a single roll tend to take that form.

Nick2286's post was the first one I came across, so I *bumped* that one to the top...

Others should check that every now I then and continue the bumpage-ing...

But of the posts there, it is almost a 50-50 split on interpretation...

Bumping rules threads is the fastest way to get them locked - legitimate questions all go on the Infernal's radar and will be answered when the design team have a chance.
