So yeah with Manikin forests and geomancy Baulder can pop in with full fury and start swinging at P&S 16 WITH REACH! suttle difference but HUGE!

I've got some bad news for you, friend. Geomancy can't be used to cast spells with RNG: Ctrl such as rapid growth. Also, the mannikins only create a 3" forest, which isn't big enough to cover a small base when used adjacent to it.
On the upside, Rapid Growth can be cast on top of models now, so having him throw it down on himself and then forest walk to a Sentry Stone forest is pretty reasonable. Gives him a 14" threat range with 4 Fury left.

Right on a bit of knee jerk post here. I was not aware that the room wasnt there for forrest walk if a manikin does forrest growth. too much theory machine I guess. Not to sound snarky but I was aware of geomancies limitations. still popping in with 4 fury and reach is respectable. and a warden casting stone skin on baulder should get the job done in most assassination runs.

Gnarlhorn animus is another option for +2" movement and +2 to a charge attack roll - that gives him a 12" threat with the first swing at mat 9 with free boosted damage.

Go reread Rapid Growth. There's nothing there anymore that says you can't put it over a model's base. :)

Tried this out last night, but never got the opportunity. My opponent stayed just outside of Baldur's Control range, and I couldn't manage to slip a Mannikin through his lines, or line up a fertilizer ranged shot that would have gotten a forest close enough.
I'm sure this will still be a valid tactic, but I don't think it'll be easy against an aware opponent.

he stayed out of your control area? are you also considering his 2" reach, and the fun (though mostly unused) Push Power Attack?
Also, the Push could get you into the forust made by a Mannikin...

Yeah. You have to stay 14" away from Baldur at all times. It is kind of scary actually. After I wrecked Baldur's entire army down to him and 4 Bloodtrackers, I got pDoomy to close and died.

Hey did you guys realize that a woldwatcher can explode our own troops into forests.
So now we can run up some infantry shoot it in the back with a watcher then port baldur to the forest.
Man baldur is my next must play caster.

does he have movement to sacrafice after you teleport him with the stones?

The Stones' teleportation means that he "cannot advance after being placed" by the teleportation, but does not say that he forfeits his movement. Forest Walk requires him to forfeit his movement, but that's ok because his movement hasn't been forfeited yet. The restriction is against forfeiting the same thing twice.

Sorry guys by port I meant cast rapid growth on his own head and treewalk to the forest you just made with your own troops body.

Now, one thing that came up if not being being able to be completely in a forest with the 3" manikin burst, but I got to thinking, can two manikins make their AOEs so the baldur is completely within the two forest AOEs?

They Said "No." in Mark I. He had to be completely within a single forest, not just completely within forest terrain. Not sure off the top of my head if the wording changed.
edit: looking at the Forest Walk ability, it still says "While completely within a forest". So it probably still only works if he's completely in one forest.

Woah. AWESOME. You just made my morning. Bloodtrackers or Bloodweavers (OMG, imagine if you could get a Bloodweaver to hit a caster with dispel!) charge a caster, woldwatcher frags one, Baldur in for the kill.
Thanks!

I'm love'n how even if there are no forests on the table, you can still put this assassination off. manikin puffs, Baldur gets shifted into the forest, casts Rapid Growth, forest walk with 4 Fury and shack the caster. Or if you don’t like the shifting stones, run a living model close to the enemy caster, Fertilizer it, cast Rapid Growth over himself, then shack a' caster.

Fertilizer is a decent idea. Only trouble (beyond getting a friendly warrior model within ~4" of the enemy caster) is that we have no low-DEF targets to shoot in the back. Wolves of Orboros are pretty much the only choice, and you won't always hit DEF13 with the woldwatcher's RAT5 (4?). Back strike will help, of course.
My personal favourite assassination theory goes something like this:
-Have a mannikin pop a forest beside Baldur.
-Have a warden power attack push Baldur into the forest. It will only fail if Baldur rolls a six and the warden a one.
-Have the same warden Geomancy stone skin on Baldur.
-Baldur throws a forest beside the enemy caster, foresk walks out.
-4 FURY, MAT7, P+S 16, and weight of stone. It's not guaranteed, but it's solid.
For extra guarantee, charge or trample a woldwarden within 3" of the caster and use undergrowth. Hard to pull off, but -2DEF is delicious. I get the feeling my opponents' casters will be securely hidden by medium-based infantry from now on.
