Castrol Super clean

Is this stuff safe on plastics and the plastic bases? I have been reading lots of threads but they seemed to be referencing metals.

I soaked my models in simple green for 24 hours, then scrubbed with a denture brush. "most" of the primer is off, but there is still some I can't seem to get out with a brush or dental pic or anything. I'm wondering if Castrol super clean or purple stuff will do the trick.

Also, does this stuff weaken the glue. I noticed that a few of my mini's arms came off with simple green. Not sure if thats coincidence or not

Yes. If you read through my Stripping Paint tutorial (http://plarzoidsminis.blogspot.com/2010/10/how-to-strip-paint.html) in the Tutorial Finder (http://privateerpressforums.com/showthread.php?40242-Tutorial-Finder) (stickied at the top of the modeling section) you'll actually see me use Castrol Super Clean (CSC) on PP Plastic bases. I've also used it on PP's plastic kits, and it won't harm them either.

Also, yes, the glue will weaken your glue joints. This is normal.

The paint you are having trouble with may actually be painted superglue. If the model is metal, try soaking it in Acetone (Nail Polish Remover) to make the superglue all squishy and you should be able to peel the offending stuff right off. (Acetone will destroy plastic, so be sure to pop off the base first!)
