I just home brewed a warcaster with a background I think would be pretty awesome. Basically he's a cygnaran warcaster that defected to menoth after witnessing Voyle on the rampage in Legends. I just think the concept is pretty awesome even if the stats don't seem to be for others. Below is a description you'd find in a book.
"You can never be forgiven by The Creator in this lifetime. However, you may yet prove your soul worthy..." The Harbinger to a wracked cygnaran soldier.
Now known simply as "The Unforgiven" this once proud Cygnaran warcaster has spent most of his life in defense of the Jewel of the Iron Kingdoms. He recently saw the error of his ways during the defense of Caspia. The former Hierarch's display of the power of faith moved something within this former Cygnaran soldier. It greatly disturbed the man who would eventually abandon his post to rethink his life. After months of contemplating, he made a pilgrimage to Imer itself seeking out an audience with the Harbinger. He however would find himself on the wrack. After an extensive interrogation at the hands of many Scutators, his wish was granted. Though he would never lay his eyes upon her holiness, their conversation would prove fruitful. He could never be a menite. His manifestation of the arcane made it impossible. However, there came a bargain, true menites strive to serve the creator to cleanse their souls for the afterlife. The former cygnaran discarded his name simply taking "The Unforgiven" as his persona. It is a constant reminder that he must strive every second that remains of his short life. He now journeys the Iron Kingdoms with a small complement of support, fulfilling orders given directly to him from Hierarch Severius and the Harbinger, for he trusts no one else with the tasks that will cleanse his soul.

Sacred Ground: Cost 3 RNG ctrl AOE4" POW 8 UP- OFF-
Place a 4" anywhere completely within this model's ctrl area. Enemy models currently in the suffer a Pow 8 damage roll. The AOE remains in play for one round. Enemy models entering or ending their activation in the AOE suffer a Pow 8 damage roll.
Pray and Spray: Cost 2 RNG 6 AOE- POW- UPX OFF-
target friendly faction model/unit gains Eyeless Sight
Feat: Debilitate: While in this model's ctrl area, enemy models roll one less die on attack rolls, and roll one additional die on CMD, Frenzy, and Skill Checks. Debilitate lasts for one round.

I love the idea and the fluff for him. But wow, that feat is just insanity. And why would Sevvy let him run around with a Cygnar jack?

actually you're right, he shouldn't have a cygnar jack, in fact I just edited that out. He wouldn't have one left over from former days since he went AWOL for a while. I also dropped the WJ points to help balance out his awesome feat.

I like him. Seems like he should have more Cygnar type spells like Snipe though rather than just Arcane Bolt. Like the feat but it really does seem very powerful. Looks like maybe it should be halved one way or the other to either:

Or
"While in this model's ctrl area, roll one additional die on CMD, Frenzy, and Skill Checks. Debilitate lasts for one round."
Personally i prefer the second as it is more unique and you should have a second cmd check causing spell with a low cost to compliment it such as:
Fear of God: Cost 2 rng 8 aoe - Pow 12 up - Off X
If hit causes damage then target enemy model/unit must take an immediate CMD check. If failed the model/unit effected must flee at least 3' from this spells point of origin.
The Resolve spell seems very strong as well though not sure its over powered, perhaps just target friendly Faction Model rather than Model/unit and add another +1 to the stats buffed Otherwise you have combined Eye of Menoth with Death Sentence.
Like the concept alot actually but just feel he needs tweeking a little, but hey he's your guy, i don't want to tell you what to do! :)

all feed back I take into consideration for my homebrews. Thanks. I thought of including Arcane Shield, but that would've been broken considering our other buffs and what not. I also considered more cygnarish spells, but remember, he's trying to cleanse himself of sin against menoth. These new spells represent his change in philosophy.
Also, I'm trying to come up with a new feat, I particularly like the second half of the current one. I'd like that to only be a part of the feat. I'm trying to come up with another part that requires cmd checks or something of the sort. If anyone has an idea, post away.

I like some of the ideas here.
I'd change Resolve to "friendly faction warrior model/unit" and +1 to attack and damage rolls. It would be a mini Eye of Menoth for a single model/unit but not available to our warjacks.
For the feat I'd remove the damage element and you should be all set. It would be a cool feat and not overpowered on a 14" control area. I lijke how it scrws with mechanics, Stornsmiths, and command checks while using a very simple effect.

I'm not sure why he has Purgation. That is stealling a little of Reznik's signiture within the faction. I think some other ability may be appropriate. Maybe just Blessed. It does not sound like this guy really wants to be in the thick of it like some other casters. He seems to be more of a support caster.
Notice that he is one of the VERY few PoM casters with a ranged weapon. You might consider making him a MAT 6 RAT 7. That would be something different for us. He could really use the Quad Iron.

I like it, for both the feat change and Resolve, we don't have many warrior specific buffs, thanks Larb. I used Purgation to continue with the whole cleansing himself theme, but you're right, takes away the uniqueness of Reznik. I keep editing the first post for those wanting to see the current state of "The Unforgiven"

No problem. I still like the idea of switching MAT and RAT. You should playtest him and see how he works.
I would say be careful about putting Def Ward on a caster with such naturally high defensive stats and focus. Upkeeping that at the cost of just one focus he becomes Def 17 Arm 18 (approaching BoK Vlad territory) with six more focus to spare for potential camping (perhaps 8 with Wracks and Cleansing) and, if the Covenant is along, denying the traditional solution to BoK Vlad, the knockdown and beatdown.
I think you may have unintentionally created a near-unkillable caster.

actually Kazi, you just confirmed a suspicion I had. I'm gonna switch out defender's ward for something else. Maybe Rebuke, I know that SnakeEyes would love that. Or, maybe a jack buff. Everyone loves jack buffs.
Also, I got rid of a weapon ability for a model ability that I think suits the character and his fluff.

I think he should wear the Vassal's iron mask. Unlocked, but he should just wear it. Have his spikey wacked cygnaran hair flowing out the back of it.
That's my 2 focus.

What about Blur or Inviolable Resolve instead of Iron Agression. You would then have to rename Resolve something else. Maybe Fortitude (http://thesaurus.reference.com/browse/fortitude) or Penitence?

replaced Iron Aggression with a new spell I call Pray and Spray. Will greatly benefit the Errants and deliverers.

You should take a look at what i said... ;) The second part was an extra die on cmd, frenzy and skill checks. Thats what i preferred to have as the feat personally and still don't really feel that the less damage die is required. That is the part i felty was unique, or does Fiona do that as well?

Here's a copy and paste of what I've got at the top. Thanks to everyone giving feedback. Now I know how privateer feels when they get feedback. Continue with suggestions. I'd like to increase the jack points back since the feat isn't uber anymore. What's your opinions? Also remember, he can't give orders to units since they don't quite trust an ex-cygnaran warcaster.

I'd say:
Remove the "one less die on attack rolls" from the Feat. Makes him more unique and not too reliant on the feat turn.
Trade Sacred Ground for Arcane Blast. POW 8 damage rolls anywhere in 14" (might be 16") from him might be too powerful as it wipes out most low-ARM infantry. He might be practically immune from ambushers like Kossite Woodsmen, Idrians, Eiryss, etc.
Reduce STR and MAT by 1. Makes him more reliant on the Quad-Iron.

How about this change in the feat?
Mind Debilitation: While in this model's ctrl area, enemy models suffer -2 to attack rolls, and roll an additional die on CMD, Threshold, and Skill Checks.
Also, Sacred Ground change.
Sacred Ground: Cost 3 Range ctrl AOE 4" Up- Off-
Place a 4" AOE anywhere completely within this model's ctrl area. Enemy models moving into or ending their activation in the AOE are knocked down. The AOE remains in play for one round.
or if you don't like that new spell version, I could always just drop Sacred Ground for Dead Eye and make this caster even more range oriented.

I'm not sure the reduction to the attack rolls is needed for the feat really but it works. I still feel he needs more Cygnar spellage. I realise he is trying to move away from the Arcane but he hasn't just gained divine powers surely? Vassels still use arcane power in their workings for the Lawgiver so i feel this guy should as well.
Snipe would work i think or Mage Sight, perhaps in place of Pray and Spray? (although i do like that)
More WJ points is fine, up to 5 or 6 i'd say.
A Melee buff ability would e nice i think... something like if he takes damage in Melee from enemy attacks he gains +1 Str and +1 Mat for the turn. The fluff reasoning would be as he feels the end draw nearer he fights all the harder to ensure he cleanses himself before he dies. and stuff

I'd like to have the feat as just the second half, but I think it would be better against hordes and very unpowered against warmachine. I'm trying to have a universally good feat.
Sorry, but Pray and Spray is here to stay. I like it too much. However, sacred ground is on the chopping block. I edited it, but I'd like something else instead. I'm looking through a lot of the Cygnar spells and will have a decision soon. I'm thinking a defensive buff would be good since he has two offensive buffs.

target enemy model/unit suffers -3 SPD and DEF
Dead Eye
Firebomb: Cost 4 RNG 8 AOE 5" POW- UP- OFFX
if this attack misses, nothing happens, if it hits target model, all models in the AOE suffer the Fire continuous effect.

sweet just read the new additions to the history of menoth in Prime MK2. A paragraph in there heavily supports this character.
"Cygnar had witnessed the power of the Creator and countless of their citizens have crossed to join our ranks." Is referring to the Voyle's display of power in Legends.
