Depends on the list you're running. I say Widowmakers now, because there isn't a list you can ruin by including widowmakers. Greylords have a lot of potential, however, as does Eiryss. Which Eiryss?

Why can you not take Widowmakers AND Eiryss??
i agree, Widowmakers.
They are always good. Greylords are sometimes good.
A bokur is another solid option for 3 points, if your caster needs some protection.

Widowmakers are a lot simpler to use. Point at expensive enemy infantry, and 4 of them die per turn.

so take the widowmakers and pEiryss for some shooty magic? and no greylords for blocking line of sight to butcher?

Widowmakers and pEiryss all the way. You are cranking out some serious ranged dmg and cant miss. I would not worry as much about blocking LOS to the butcher because it will be hard to do good damage without any focus :D

plus the widowmakers count as pow10 weapon masters from 14 inches away hitting def 14-16 on average :D

It really depends on what you want your points to do, which warcaster you are using, and what point level you are playing.
I would say Greylords based solely on the power of an accurate POW 12 spray with 3 dice of damage. You can clear out infantry or even assassinate warcasters with that (Granted that boosted POW 10 attacks have a very similar potential). Other than raw power, you get concealment and an emergency debuff/freeze.
Widowmakers are nice, but they have a far more specific role (Shoot at things) as opposed to the Greylords little toolbox of spells, so you really just have to decide which is more important to your list.
Also, I recommend picking whichever models you like most, since both options are perfectly acceptable.

The bokur would take care of that for at least one round. I would recommend widowmakers, too.
