I can't access the cards here at work...but is Rhoven and company worth the points now? I know a Khador player who says their character unit (Great Bears of Gallowoods) are much less capable. Is this the case with Rhoven and the visigoths?

Unfortunately for Rhoven and co, they are still a situational unit. Their survivability went down from mk1 to mk2. Rhoven also became all but a strictly anti-hordes unit as opposed to mk1 being anti hordes and (mostly anti cryx) a bit of anti warmachine.
They are not bad but their use is limited as opposed to the other Legends character units. If you fight Hordes often, I'd say you will want them in most of your lists but if you fight mostly WM you can probably find better uses elsewhere to spend the points.

Rhoven: fearless commander officer: SPD 5 STR 6 MAT 8 RAT 4 DEF 12 ARM 16, no B2B boost, when they are damaged they get pathfinder and +2 STR and ARM
cleanse (* action) Animi and Cont effects on models/ units in command range expire (CMD 10 on Rhoven)
Menoth's sight (* action) choose friendly faction model. while in Rhovens COMMAND area it ignores stealth and cloud effects for a round
Negation (* action) remove 1 focus or fury from enemy models in command range
P+S 12 staff, fire, magic weapon, reach
BODYGUARDS: fearless, Battle driven (pathfinder +2 bonuses as above) Exemplar: same as rhoven but one less command
Halberds: P+S 11: magic weapon, reach, WeapMast, blessed, set defense
little 4 point unit, buffs here, nerfs there, i would feild them

Just to let you know, there were rules on the forum against posting full stats like that. I don't think it's changed, so to be safe before doing it, check the Forum Rules, it'll be in there somewhere. If your still unsure, Josh can give you all the info you'll need.

oh crap, thanks man
I think it's okay right now, since you can just download the pdf that has the rules off the front page anyways.
But yeah, they are an iffy unit. On the one hand, they are only 4 points. but then again, their weapons are more reliable than a Seneschal(albeit lacking the chain attack) with reach, blessed and magical weapon. I compare it to a seneschal, and they have a lot of the same punch, but more health, and some bonus spell-like effects off Rhoven himself. And they have the Battle Driven exemplar bonus.
So i dunno. They don't hit as hard as 2 paladins for the same cost, but they do more than a Seneschal for 1 pt more. I guess it depends on what you need and what you have. If you have a combo to use with them, sure. Might be worth having for negating cloud effects and stealth with a Vanquisher or Redeemer, and removing animi and continuous effects is always handy.

Yeah it's a shame too since the models are so cool. It just seems like 4 points is a lot for a unit that might not do anything depending on what your enemy brings. Then again they can be great against the "right" enemy. They'd help Kreoss and a Redeemer take out a Stealthed Deneghra. Previously Kreoss could knock her down but couldn't get around the Stealth.
Cool models but I miss the ARM bonus.

My biggest complaint with them is that most of Rhoven's abilities are *actions, which means if you're using them his bodyguards can't charge that turn. That's a shame because the bodyguards are terrible at actually protecting Rhoven, so I'd tend to prefer to just put them out in front and have them swing at things with their Halbreds while Rhoven sits in the back and chants.
Still, if you think about each Bodyguard as being basically 1 point and Rhoven as a 2 point support solo, they seem reasonably well costed.
1 point for a Knight Exemplar with Reach, Set Defense, and Battle Driven, not to mention 5 wounds, is really not bad at all.
For Rhoven himself, messing with Fury is nifty, although it would be better if you could add a Fury as well as remove, since adding fury can force the Hordes player to make THR checks whereas removing it is much less effective (worst case the Hordes player has to cut themselves to fill up completely). I've never used the anti-stealth ability, but it theoretically could be useful at some point (on a Reckoner for instance). Blowing away Animi and Continuous effects is probably the most important of his abilities, but you have to be careful with it because it blasts friendly upkeeps as well. You'll be glad to have him around if you need to blow away a Krea's Animus, or Spiny Growth, or Shadow Stalk, or Undergrowth, or any of a number of annoying Animuses.
In general, I think they're a reasonable choice if you know you're going to be facing Hordes. I'm glad they're only 4 points now, because that feels about right for the unit. If PP could turn most of Rhoven's *actions into innate abilities (similar to the Piper's Songs) then I would call them solid, but the inherent contradictions in the unit as it stands forces me to reserve my highest praise.

With eSevy and Reckoner I take them for the anti stealth. Steath is a big deal now when there are so few things that ignore it. With Menoth's Sight on a Reckoner(add it Ancilliary Attack for flavor) I've been able to remove Eiryss early game, the Black13, pDenny, Goreshade and eKaya.
Rhoven and friends really shine in certain builds but in others they are lack-luster which is how a unit should be.
