League Question

So, I have a question about winning the league and the coin. I won the coin at my FLGS for the last league last year, so does that count towards me not being able to win the coin this league? I don't think so because it's an entirely new set (1 of 4) so my last win shouldn't count for the can't win twice in a row rule. My Organizer however disagrees, who's right here?

Hmm well it does say a coin is given out to the league champ for that season and no same person can win the coin 2 seasons in a row. I am also not sure if that resets in year end or something.
