I wasnt sure on a title here, but basically the gaming group that I have are all kind of digesting the MK2 book and stats (we missed out on the field test, so this is all new to us).
While I was going through my options I came across a few questions that I do not feel should be in the general Cygnar discussion.
For my lists I try to build well balanced "all comers" lists, when I play casually. So with that in mind I am having a hard time figuring out the "roles" that some units have, especially when compared to other units.
I am kind of looking at the overall picture regardless of what else is in the list. So basically for the same point cost, would anyone rather have the B13th or a Charger? I can see the survivability of the charger, two shots, but could use up a lot of focus to work at full effect, and the warcaster I use would depend on how I feel for the day. Could be caine, stryker, haley, nemo.. anyone. for my army, I will have a unit of ATGM and the captain UA for them. I do not know if it will be necessary to have that many gun mages on the table.
I am kind of set on using the gun mages since I play Highborm mercs also.
The second question I have is in a shooty army, that has Trenchers (anti-infantry), 10 Longgunners (anti-jack), and Celena and the Nyss Hunters (anti-infantry/ light jack), if you had to pick two of the following what would you use?
I am at a complete loss on this one, where I can see the advantage of both. I like the damage the Charger can take. But the B13th are pretty self supporting. I am going to guess that the B13th is better in this regard.
Harlan Versh; extra shots, and anti-upkeep spells
Trencher Chaingunner x1. Can advance deploy, and dig in. I like them since they will benefit from feats that impact Cygnar units such as pStryker.
Gorman di Wulfe; to go around and use Black Oil or Rust on a target. I view him as a one hit wonder. Pretty much I do not expect him to survive the turn after he uses his gernade, since I typically use Black Oil and he hits himself.
*I am leaning more towards the Chaingunner, and Harlan Versh myself on this one.
Thanks for any suggestions.
