Worst case scenario.......my buddy plays menoth, so I could ask him to borrow a couple models (he has 2 battlebox's and a handful of other models). Probably the easiest would be to grab a couple of his multi-part magna heavies. I'll ask him tonight.....if have him figure out how many points, and what he may want, and I'll run it past jon. Some of his models I know he won't want to lend out, due to fragility, but his plastic jacks I'm thinking would probably be not too bad.

I just joined the forums today and thought I would introduce myself. I'm Ryan's/Slipfox's buddy Branden. I was the Menoth player at longest night.

Thanks for putting on the event I had a really good time. Also thanks for helping Slipfox put together some models on my behalf for the Steamroller. I really apriciate it and i'm looking forward to getting rolled tomorrow.

That said, really enjoyed playing on a timer even though it lead to some turns ending awfully fast for me. I was reading about the Death Clock variant and wondering if anyone else is interested in that kind of thing locally or if its something that you guys have been considering? Chess clocks are about 20 bucks each, maybe I know what I am going to get you guys for christmas.. :P

Hey man, yah great turn out, great games and an alround great day.

As for deathclock, i really do believe its the route we and the PP community should go, makes it so some of the more bricky slow armies more playable in the timed events, while in the timed turns it makes it alot harder to play some of those lists. I would certainly be down to try it.

The 2 minute loss of time screwed with me......twice I didn't have time to move my bane thralls and tartarus. I'd say 11:00 minutes would've been better, with a 5 minute extension.

It's all good. I literally just drove up Stoney Trail (I live in the NE so not toooo far) and went to every community in search of them. I found them @ 'Your Dollar World' which is right beside a 'Dollarama' in Country Hills. It was off Stoney Trail / Country Hills BLVD, and I almost missed it because why the hell are two dollar stores side by side...

Anyways, they had the 4"/5" and + sizes, and a variety pack, they were sold out of the 3". BUT the 'Dollar Store' off 64 AVE NE beside the Canadian Tire, had every other size EXCEPT the 4".

Now that I have intimate knowledge of all the dollar stores in the north side of the city I feel my opinion is that of an expert and should be respected. 'Dollarama' = worst. 'Your Dollar World' = best. Generally if the sign was Green/Yellow the store was well kept but terribly stocked and if the sign was Red/White/Gold it was truley a pit of despair, but the stuff inside was much better. And stay away from Michaels. They only carry extremely large rings (6+).


Long story short I have a bajillion of all the sizes now. Some people might say I have a problem with the amount of templates I own for a game that I just started playing. If anyone needs/wants these I can pick up a set (3x 3", 4x 4", 2x 5") for 10 bucks. I live in the NE and now that I know where to go I can put it on my drive to the box.

Yeah the table is a beast. It is 4x6, weighs a ton, is full of bolts so it comes apart when I move. I needed a war gaming table and I also needed it to have a huge amount of storage space included because convincing the wife to let me build a gigantic table in our basement was iffy at best. Cost about 150 dollars in materials. Took about 45 minutes for my step dad to knock it together (gotta love having a master carpenter in the family).

If Branden and I ever get our **** together we will actually build our own terrain rather than constantly settling for the GF9 stuff. ><

Just so everyone's aware, and to prevent an escalating flame war, I brought the mod hammer down on the division thread today.
Read through, and see what I had to say, as it will be deleted tomorrow.

It's BS like that which really throws a wrench in plans of building a large, and thriving community.
I know that everyone doesn't have the full scoop, and I don't expect anyone to ask me exactly what the scoop is. I'm not promoting that kind of crap in Calgary, and I could care-less what store anyone plays at, where they post their events, etc. It's a three-sided argument now, and plenty of ***-hattery from all involved parties.

It's shut down, and I'll be locking any further bull **** that appears in the WM/Hordes local forums from now on.

I'm here to promote PP games, no matter what store they're played at. if some dudes want to get their panties in a knot, I'll make sure it doesn't spread any longer.
In part it's my fault; I should have shut down the thread much earlier than today.

But, it's over, and have no wish for any sort of bad-mouthing to continue. We're all just trying to play some games, and have a good time. :D

Crappy day. I feel your pain about the tire; been driving with a massive nail causing a slow leak in mine for about 6 months. I just discovered the nail last week. Before that, I just assumed it was a improperly sealed valve.

Ol' Rowdy is definitely a must have. He's by far the best 9 point heavy in Cygnar. He's so good, it's hard not to include him in every list.

Stormguard are great, and if you play eStryker or either Nemo, they are a must have. I love 'em, although they're not everyone's favorite on the forums. I find they do pretty well for me. They seem to do better than Stormblades for me, but that could be my playstyle, as pNemo is my current favorite 'caster, and I really like eStryker, but I have a tendency to blow my assassination runs with him all the time....

Yeah I was really stupid when I got into the car I have now. (SRT4 Dodge Caliber 09). I drove my VW GTI with an engine swap onto the dealership and basically told them to give me a car or I would leave it behind. Car IS awesome but I just can't afford 500 dollar tires and 500 dollar monthly payments. Before I got into war gaming my hobby was cars, all my friends were into cars, we all just did car stuff all the time.



With this retardation and tires I will have spent over 2K on tires in a year. Which to mean means that I could have bought a used junker and then spent 500 on Warmachine/Nerd stuff a month instead..

Ah cars. I used to have a nice sports ride with racing rims, tires, decked out, and a thumpin' stereo. it was stolen 3 days before Christmas, and I took a net loss of 4k on my insurance.
Never again will I have another expensive car. My cheap Civic is costing me a ton as it is with it needing new tires, getting that blasted electrical short fixed (which is one of those 'mystery costs'; "oh, we'll have to run a full diagnostic to find out where it's shorting out...", meanwhile, $120/hour later, I find out what I knew it was in the first place), and constant maintenance. If I didn't have kids, and this city's transit didn't suck, I wouldn't bother with a car anymore.

Oh Magic. How you used to be good. Sold all my Beta, and Revised cards for a huge chunk of money after they sat in my closet for three years, forgotten. Ha! Magic...I stopped playing after Mirage was released.

It was fun, I forgot how much I actually enjoyed Thrya will have to play her more often. What is it about Cygnar anyways that gets all the new folks?. Hell Cygnar was going to be my first army until another friend decided to be them, which suits me fine because I love Menoth.

They are like the poster boys of warmachine, kind of like space marines. or atleast thats how i look at them, and very steam punky

Yeah, they've got Tesla coils, and have the most steampunk look of the Warmachine range.
I liked them because they had lots of models I liked, and hardly any I didn't.

Cygnar has a solid line-up of models, with only two unit I think suck, and I will never play; Longunners (maybe if they get a resculpt, even still, likely not), and vanilla Trenchers (just can't stand their rules, and how much they cost).

Plus, Cygnar has lightning/electricity, which is rare in a fantasy setting. That, and the fact that they're on all the T-shirts, posters, advertising, etc.

Once upon a time, I was the sole Cygnar player for close to two years. Cryx was the popular faction back then, with 5 players all playing Cryx.
