great games as usual, also increased our regular numbers by 33% it looks like! from 4-6 haha.

Points for me are as follows: 3 wins = 9, 1 small warlock, and 1 large Warbeast = 4 for a total of 13 points.

Now I've gotta figure out what the heck is gonna be in the 25p list..

yeah, i'm sitting at 2 wins, 1 loss.
painted so far is 3 small solos, and 1 medium solo, 2 medium jacks, unit of 2 large base models. i think that 23 points so far. both parts of darragh wrathe and 2 sirens will be done before the end of the week.

so i did a bunch of research, and apparantly i've been playing my coven wrong, and my revenants wrong as well.
apparantly, the coven are all solo's. so they each activate on their own, they don't activate like a unit. also, each of the witches can cast a spell, following normal caster rules. the revenants point blank works differently than gunfighter, where the ranged attack becomes a 2nd melee attack, once the models are in melee range. all bonus's and boosts apply to both attacks.
it's amazing what a little research can uncover :P

And gray, next time we match up......there'll be no do-overs, so you need to double check everything you do :P

I like the play style of trolls but find their troop models completely unappealing, my next faction will likely be a slow croc force, or picking up a warmachine faction.. possibly Khador.

I have my sights set on Trolls for my first Hordes faction, which'll probably be next. If the "Lightning Troll" seems good in domination I might even pick them up then.
Otherwise I'd be playing Searforge.

The only reason I'd pick up Pigs would be if my modeling skills seriously improved, so its fair to say I wont be picking them up :p

I've got a small skorne force started. Bleed has the trolls Battlebox, but he seems to be really enjoying menoth. If you're interested in the box, talk to him and he may cut you a deal, as his next faction I believe will be seaforged mercs

As far as my painting goes, my wife was busy last weekend, so I had all monday to myself, and painted all day. And had 3 evening during the week. That and with the soulhunters, I'd spent a loooooong time painting the leader preious to the league, so it was fairly easy to paint the 2 troopers.

We need a ret player too......if anyone wants to volunteer to be that player.....I have the greatest/easiest paint scheme for them....just buy the metal models, assemble them as cleanly as possible, then just paint the eyes, any highlights, and base them, and just say they're real metallics. With the way that ret's jacks and armor are, you could totally pull it off.

On a side I have a rules question, in one of my games my war beast was knocked down by IF Pikeman on a critical hit, these models don't have critical knockdown so as I'm new is there a special reason for this? I'm unsure thats why I'm asking.

You can count me in, as I'm one of the factions involved in the fiction. The other thing I was thinking about, was this league will be a great opportunity to build/play with the ship board I proposed last month. I have all the base 2x2 tiles cut and ready for the work to begin. I need to price out the materials, and depending on the cost, I may end up asking for donations to go towards the board. Once this is done, I plan to leave it at sentry for use (mostly for us). The other thing, is I'm going to be looking to volunteers for the modelling and painting of the board. I'm hoping to have the large portions of the board constructed beforehand, so we could get together at my place on a saturday and break the board into the 6 sections and be able to work on it idividually. I'm thinking the saturday would be the 8th of Oct. But that date may move. I'll keep you all informed as the weeks go on. Just keep it in mind, as I'll be looking for 5 volunteers, and probably $5-10 from anyone who's willing to contribute.

@Graycross - I'm going to say no extra points for an omni-jack. The intent is for players to build one of three models with it. It's unfair to the Hordes guys who are already getting the shaft by not having Wreck markers, let alone multi-beast kits. One model = points for one model, no matter how many parts it comes in.

@usb - It might not be such a great idea to leave an expensive, and fragile board at the store. People tend not to take very good care of the store boards (as you have seen) and I would really hate to see something that had so much time, effort and money put into it get destroyed after one week. You'd be constantly repairing it.

However, Gord, the owner might feel inclined to give you some store credit if you left it at the store for public use. It might be an idea to go in talk to him, or Greg, and see you can work something out. The last guy that did it, Gord gave him about $200 credit for a mediocre table that was in two odd-shaped pieces, and had lousy terrain; it was a very amateur attempt to say the least. I'll show you the table next time I'm in.

It's worth perhaps giving him a phone call about.

Yeah, I understand what you mean Ghool. On one hand I am hesitant to leave it there, but on the otherhand, I'd feel really bad to build this as a collective league and keep it at my house, and then if I go away for a few weeks neglect everyone from using it (that and once it's done it'll weigh a fair amount, and I won't really want to transport it back and forth). If I were to leave it at the store, I'd see about taking a corner in that back store room. Dunno, we'll see when it's done.

No, I haven't played in that format before.
The old leagues just had a random roll for where you would fight, and the weather/board effects it had. Some of those scenarios are pretty cool.
We can run both in tandem, but I'll have to see if we got both league kits ordered. I'm not sure if we have one, or the other, or both.
Next time I'm in I'll talk to Greg and fins out which ones we have. Because Edward knows I'm running the events again, he'll likely just auto-order anything that has to do with leagues or tournaments.

There's also the Longest Night, which is another official event. Haven't heard anything about it, except that it's going to be run soon, and that it has to do with Alexia.
I'll set some dates for the leagues, and our year end Hardcore tournament very soon.

Hmmm...thinking about this Longest Night event got me thinking to offer an awesome prize to the first place winner, in addition to whatever prize support we have.
I have an eAlexia I grabbed from the pre-release at LnL.
I might be inclined to paint it up, and offer it as a first prize, or as a prize for best painted army (if we decide on painting requirements) for the Longest Night event....I think that might motivate everyone to paint up a full list depending on what size of games the event is meant for....no? :D

Since it has to do with undead, and a psychotic necromancer, Halloween might be a good time to run the Longest Night....

I'm curious what this longest Night will be like, and anything extra you're willing to throw in for events Ghool i dont think anyone would mind :D. You can always make it known before the event that there is a prize for best painted, you can say or not say what it is, but then also not require painting(tho i much prefer it) and hopefully that motivates people since they cant win it without being painted(well). But also doesnt discourage people who dont enjoy painting from coming to our events.

Anyways, Hallows Eve falls on a monday, so the sunday before is unlikely. If anything, we can run the Longest Night on November 5th.
Then have a regular game days two weeks after, and then our Hardcore year end finale at the end of November.
I assume most of us will be pretty busy for the month of december, so just our pick up games can run for that month, if at all.

We can then kick off the new year with a new league, and regular sunday gaming again.

We should also start making plans for Lock n' Load next year. From what I have heard first hand, it will be running in May 2012. That's only a few months away. So, let's get a roster of who's in, and who's not, and whose car we'll be driving.
if it's the same as last year, it'll be a saturday and sunday. It's a 14 hour drive, so getting the preceding friday, and monday following off is advised. Sunday won't wind down until about 8-9pm, so leaving monday morning is much better. It's also very exhausting, because you can play games for like 18 hours on saturday, and 12 on sunday....Iron Arena has some good prizes too....and it's good times.

I am, of course, all in. I plan on doing almost nothing but gaming this time around, barring the tournaments I'm in, and seminars I find interesting.

If possible, we can take mine, as I can fit 5 and gear, and its an '07, so we ride in a bit of comfort, and get good gas milage. The wife might need it, but its a possibility. With 4 passengers it'll be a bit tight. With 3 passengers it'll be comfortable.

Sounds like Dawn has the nicest ride, and the most room.
I also wouldn't need any rides anywhere....its doubtful I'd leave the convention hall, and its probably best we get a room in the hotel its being held at. If anything, I'd just go for a walk to the markwt, if its held in Seattle downtown again.

On saturday they had Masters Qualifier 1, Hardcore 1, and Team Tournament....I think there was another Masters in there too.
Sunday had Masters 2, and Masters Finals, and Hardcore 2.

You could feasibly fill the entire weekend with tournament play, but then you'd have no time for seminars, or hitting up the store for the pre-releases. You'll want to save some time for Iron Arena, because they do have some pretty sweet prizes just for casual play, and the most amazing scenario tables you'll ever see. Oh, and you do get points for Iron Arena prizes by playing in the tournaments too. Pretty significant amounts; 10 points per tournament. You can start cahsing in the IA points at 4 points, and I spent 12 points to get the 9 PP tokens you've seen me with. 3 tokens for 4 'Skulls'. The tops prizes are 30 Skulls.

I bought a bunch of brushes and hobby supplies in the store, and they have tees, the online exclusives (except they didn't have the pHaley alt...grrr), all NQ's that aren't sold out, and all the books. Basically everything in the online store, plus the entire line of models and books.

And trust me, you'll need at least 2 hours for the store. I spent half that time standing in line for the eAlexia. If you go later on in the day, there's no line up. Nothing I noticed was sold out. Besides, it's in Seattle, so if they did run out, I assume they could just send some on to get more stuff from their warehouse.

Bring lots of spending money....

I haven't. What you need to do after registering, is choose a venue.
That should be on the left vertical tabs on the side of your screen.

Click on that, and search for 'Sentry Box', and add it as one of your venues.
I still need to be hooked up as the Event Organizer to add events to the venue. Once I am, I'll let you guys know when they're happening, and when to sign up for them via this thread.

Do you just not care for the "mask" he's wearing? I've seen a few conversions that looked pretty good. One guy I saw just painted it to look like a mexican wrestlers mask. Another I saw was someone modeled a towel and draped it over it's head, like you see boxers do before a match, and it was positioned to basically cover all the "mask" that he's wearing......it looked pretty good, and I'm pretty sure all it was, was greenstuff. The last one which looked cool, but would be a lot of work, was the guy made an entire outfit that made the wrastler look like the undertaker, and the hat he placed on the wrastlers head so that it covered nearly all the face. I think the towel would look cool, and if you could model the hands to look like the old leather boxing gloves would look sweet I think.

So, no joy on your UA @ myth gray. On a side note, I found at myth, and painted last night, my army mascot! Too bad it's not a PP model and I can't get hobby points :P. Oh well, it's awesome anywho so, I'm really stoked.

As far as your croc's stances are concerned......there's nothing that a sharp knife, some fancy pinning and some green stuff can't fix. I still think modelling your wrastler to look like a 50's boxer would be awesome......with the fighting trunks pulled up to his nipples. And some oversized boxing gloves would be wicked-awesome!

The Sand Narrows League is now up on the events site, as is a Steamroller format Tournament on November 20th.
The Tournament will be our final event until the new year.
