Soooo... being relatively new to the game and the faction, I like many was orginally drawn to Kaya (battle box, etc). But after reading the boards for the past few months, it doesn't seem like any of our casters jump out like some of the other warcasters/warlocks. Kromac has definitely gotten a bump, there doesn't seem to be any real love for Kruegar... so who is Circle's top dog?

Some that come to mind for the rival factions are Thargrosh/eThargrosh, Kreoss, Asphyxious/eAsphyxious, the Butcher, Cain...

do we know who our preminent Lock is?

PS - apologies if a duplicate thread

there's a lack of love for pKrueger because we all got SOOOO tired of playing him. He was the sole truly competitive warlock of our faction in MK I... as such we all had to play him more than we wanted.

pKaya and Kromac are the current top dogs. In low pt games pKaya will dominate but she hits the top of her curve at 35 pts, where Kromac is getting into swing. Going up to 50 I have to give the edge to Kromac... and beyond is anyone's guess.

pKrueger is still a very good warlock. He shatters infantry heavy armies and is relatively reliable for those that no how to use him, bu t he is dependent on the local meta game to grant him power. pKaya and Kromac require no favors from your opponents to work.

I agree with Zyrael and Bakemono for the most part. At 35pts and below, P-Kaya is in her element and is clearly our strongest Warlock. However, while Kromac is really coming into his own at 50pts, the Tharn Lord is also extremely potent at 35pts. I have found Baldur to be strong enough to be competitive at 35pts too. At 35pts I'd rank them Kaya, Kromac, and then Baldur.

seems interesting that our primal warlocks are better than the epic versions... I really like Kromac myself. I assume we are going to have a Tharn "tier" list to play with, curious to see what that is about.

Is Kruegar totaly out of the of the discussion at this point?

I think he'll still be good. Infantrymachine isn't fully dead, and so as the meta continues to bring trooper hordes, Krueger will likely be there slaughtering it en masse for years to come. And the bastards will deserve it.

And stuff.

The value of Stormwrath will depend largely on how unwilling Warmachine is to give up infantry spam. We will find out at these first tournaments.

What is it that makes pKaya so special? Is it the fact she is running almost all beasts or what?

pKaya has the ability to run lots of beasts and run them hot with no risk.
Spirit Door allows for her usual tricks with yo-yo and assassination by feral.
Her feat is poor, but massively versatile and can be used for just about anything you'd want to do.
Packhunters lets even poor MAT beasts like the shadowhorn hit without boosting so you can get more attacks or boost more damage rolls.
Her usual lists can only be beaten easily by good quality infantry, which she has no answer to or very good (Cygnar or Legion in my experience so far) shooting lists.

So retribution will destroy her as the two guys in our LGS just use ranged units, either MHSF or the Invictors.

On a table with no forests/houses/whatsoever, yes, you will be destroyed, if you play with at least a little bit of things blocking LOS, no, it depends entirely on your skill.
Shooting is always hard to avoid, but still Circle is so fast, I don't fear the shooty lists, as you make contact at least in round 3. Legion lists with loads of beasts who ignore forests are by far worse.

If eKaya got her assassination strength back, I think she might be back as a contender. The ease of making Stealthed armies with her is actually a really good asset against the progressively more shooty Cygnar, Retribution and Khador I think.

@pinkpantie, just to note, the other poster's comments on teh Retribution includes Mage Hunters. WHich means they pretty much ignore all our avialable defense against range save spells and Stealth. I personally have been pushing for more Prowl on some thing s(WOlves of Orboros and Reeves mainly) but it will b e aproblem in the near future for the non-female Tharn units.

And stuff.
