Hi all,

First of all, this being my first post i suppose i should say hello to all you RoS players!

I wanted to share my 15 point kaelyssa list that won me 2 games against cygnar this past weekend. maybe it'll help some others who cant decide on a 15 point list (although i must admit it's definitely better against warmachine than hordes)

Kaelyssa

Hydra
MHSF + UA
Mage Hunter Assassin
pEiyrss

i suppose it's a pretty standard 15 pts w/ kaelyssa (also a point shy of 15). But i was very impressed with the performance of the mage hunters.

my initial plans were to backlash the enemy warcaster to death, but as it turns out the mage hunters kill jacks way too fast. the mage hunter assassin diddnt actually do much, she was sneaking around the back of the cygnar army and normally got plastered (probably my fault). i'm thinking about replacing her with a ghost sniper but the assassin is real good at making the opponent think about where they're placing their warcaster.

both games ended with a caster kill one of which was using kaelyssa's pistol and the other was using her aoe spell and i rolled quite high.

future additions to the army will probably be another min unit of mage hunters and a chimera for the arc node (that'll be 25 points) and advice on moving up to 35? seeing how the army is mostly stealth pathfinders i find myself shying away from some of the other really cool RoS stuff like mittens and sentinels

anyways thanks for looking and nice to chat with you all!

I count that as more than 15 points:
Kaelyssa (-7)
Hydra (9)
MHSF + UA (10)
MHA (2)
pEiryss (3)

Over all: 17 points.

sorry, forgot to specify it was a min unit.

Looks pretty solid.

Where the army goes from 25-25 (or even to 25) depends a lot on what other sorts of units and jacks you want.

A second heavy could go nice in there, so could units of Dawnguard, Houseguard, or mages. The nice thing about our casters and self supporting troops is that our lists are fairly modular. So what sort of things were you looking at?

Thanks for the comment

i agree that another heavy would give the list some extra punch and take some of the enemy's focus away from the squishy troops.

my next addition to the army was going to be a chimera for its arc node, giving kaelyssa the ability to hang back a bit in relative safety. but i suppose i could pay an extra 4 points for the phoenix and walk away with an arc node and a melee heavy all in one. Perhaps i could use the manticore (8 pts) and use those extra 4 for another unit! so many choices, all of which are fun and pretty good at doing what they do.

from the in depth discussion in the RoS community forum, id like to try stormfall archers and/or battle mages. that would keep the ranged theme in the army but i'm concerned about having too many 1 damage models.

so maybe the 25pt list would become (ok it's 24 points..maybe add in an arcanist):

kaelyssa (-7)

hydra (+9)
phoenix (+10)

mage hunter strike force (min) + ua (7)

peiyrss (+3)
mage hunter assassin (+2)

on the bright side i'd only have to add 1 more model to my current list an it would add a strong melee force. although i fear i may be outnumbered by hordes of infantry and still have a problem if several khador heavies show up across the table. a case of "jack of all trades, master of none"

going up to 25 pts could see the addition of

1 min unit of battle mages 5
1 unit of archers 5

once again all constructive criticism is welcome
