I love the look of the EBDT. I want to see what you do with a unit of Champs!
Yes, love the look~! I was going to do a desert themed trollblood army, but have since changed my theme to pink to match my friend devilssquid's army of everpink.

Those colors look splendid on the earth born, really make hip pop without ever being in danger of being an eyesore. Very nice.

I really like the look of these guys. Great Job! What colors did you use for them?
Thanks,

They're all GW colours - Privateer paints are strangely hard to get hold of here in the UK.
Skin: Bleached Bone - mix with Gryphonne Sepia and Devlann Mud as needed.
Trollkin Faces: Added Midlund Flesh to areas around where the nose would be and around lips.
"Lumps": Scorched Brown.
Red bits: Blood Red, highlight by adding yellow or applying Blazing Orange.
Here's a more advanced run down:
Undercoat the miniature white unless there is more metal than skin.
Base coat flesh with Bleached Bone.
Paint the calcification lumps and bumps Scorched Brown.
Apply heavy wash of Devlann Mud.
Apply wash of Gryphonne Sepia and paint on Bleached Bone while wash is still wet - try not to make this layer streaky.
Highlight up from previous layer with very thin coats of Bleached Bone.
Paint on Gryphonne Sepia CAREFULLY in recesses or at the edges of lumps/bumps.
Highlight edges of lumps/bumps with Bleached Bone or Skull White, then apply fairly heavy wash of Devlann Mud. Tidy up where lump/bump meets skin.
Profit!

The Earthborn Dire Troll is finally done - or at least he's as done as far as I'm willing to paint him. I might go back and give the red cloth more depth and more contrast to the rocky bumps' edges, but for now he's done. Hmm, I should probably pick up some Testor's Dullcoat, my normal matt technique has failed me.
Very nice. Who was it in the old forums who had suneater trolls? They were done extremely well also.

The Troll Axer is finally done and the Whelps should be added shortly depending on my work schedule. I can't just tag the Axer's picture to my previous posts unfortunately :(

Doomshaper, Shaman of the Gnarls WIP
Here's my latest work (besides the Hero. I really need to take a picture of him and post it) over the last couple of days. I've been rebasing all my Mercenaries instead of painting more Trollbloods, but pDoomshaper is such a great miniature.

Really nice colour scheme. The metals are great, and the skin tone is a very good alternative to the more cartoony studio colours.
I think though that the WiP Doomshaper's staff is a bit too close in colour to the skin tone, but it might look better when you get the last colours on it. :)

Hey Steamworks,
some really cool trolls you got there. Nice muted color scheme.
I especially love the Impaler.

The finished product. I'm really quite pleased with him overall. Only bit I'm not happy with is the strapping for the scrolls.

Its a very nice scheme, and the red certainly pops! I also think the EBDT is my favourite so far.

Hoarluk turned out great once all the colours were on him.
I do agree though that the straps look a bit plain. Maybe add a few more highlights on the knots?

Nice WiP. The color choices go well together, otherwise they details are pretty darn good.

Very nice indeed, only thing I'd suggest is matching the troll 'stubble' and rocks with their surroundings, mainly with the Earth Borne on his arm, since they draw power from the terrain.

Lovely work! I will be adhering to the traditional skin color when I start in on my Trollbloods, but am still puzzling out colors for their clothing and such.
