I dont see alot of these in the Cygnar forums, but this is an idea I've been kicking around for a while that I would love to see. A Character Junior, who is all balanced offense. No support, no defensive spells. Takes up your Junior slot, so No character + non-character JWC
Jeremiah William Cromwell
PC - 3
Spd - 6
Str - 7
Mat - 6
Rat - 3
def - 15
Arm - 13 (or maybe 12)
Foc - 3

Greatsword - Pow 6
Reach
Magical Weapon

Spells -
Storm Rager (+2 Mat/str/arm, no CMA/CRA
Chain Lightning

I think this is a fair, balanced Solo that could fill a niche we don't currently have in our army. He's powerful and flexible without being broken, and based on the army you're facing, he fills one of 3 distinct roles
1. Solo countermeasures - He skirts around the board and takes out solo's like the manhunter, narn, eiryss, Yuri, etc. Casts stormrager, charges, and boost 1 powerful attack to hack down tough solo's or finish off wounded lights
2. Infantry mop up - He keeps his 3 focus for extra swings, and mainly works at thinning out high-arm single wound models with moderate defense
3. Works with your caster to attempt to hit something with chain lighting.

What do you guys think?

Looks like a kinda sucky, cheaper version of laddermore honestly.

A Character Junior

But surely we already have 12 (?) of them already, don't we? All the warcasters are what junior gets to be when he grows up and becomes special.

Honestly, I agree that character Junior is a bit silly... If he made a name for himself he'd be a warcaster already. The Journeyman stage isn't THAT long. At best, by the time the next book came out we'd need to start making excuses why he hasn't ranked up, especially if his name was known.

That said, I've always wanted variant Juniors with alternate spell lists and maybe weapons. I don't really think this guy's spells are that good however. He'd also be FOC 3 for his accuracy, so he'll HAVE to boost. I'd bet he'd never cast any spell at his enemies and just be used as a solo who can buy attacks/boosts. (Though I've always wanted a nice melee solo for Cygnar)

He's only a sucky version of Laddermore if that's how you choose to play him. The point is he's variable. Laddermore can toss out 1 pow 15 and a bunch of pow 10's (Via leaps and a impact). He can toss out 1 Pow 15, or a bunch of pow 13's. Pow 10's dont punch through shield wall, pow 13's do. Being on a small base counts too (harder to target, easier to maneuver). The fact that he can run a jack and is a bit tougher to deal with than regular Junior is also a factor in how he can be run.

True, but whats to say he doesn't get promoted to full warcaster in the next couple of books? If the idea of a character Junior doesn't work with you, he could just be an FA 1 JWC Variant. Maybe a JWC with a strong Morrowan slant to his characterization, or something similiar.
Storm Rager would make him a hard target to hit (Def 15 without CRA's and CMA's can be a pain) that can actually threaten a Warcaster, lighter armor jacks, and tougher solo's/troops. Chain lightning is a gamble - its a really powerful spell to give to a solo, but if your target isn't knocked down, or you're not praying to the right gods, it isn't going to hit. I think its a fair tradeoff.
