it's a really hard plastic so it's sometimes too hard to scrape them off and you actually have to cut them off instead of scrape. this is more dangerous for your hands and for details that have mould lines on them.

building the entire model was easy though once the mould lines were off so all in all I didn't spend any more time than I would have on them.

The kits go really well together and man are they a beauty but those lines can be a pain to get off. I had to use an exacto knife and a file to get them. If you use a file, make sure to beat it out or clean it out after every small ection. The resin type stuff tends to gum it up real bad.

The models are beautiful though and pinning is not needed at all.

For those that have the models (and any inkling to this topic): how hard does it look like they'll be to magnetize?

I've been studying some of the "unboxing" articles and threads around, but any personal experience would be appreciated. I'm planning on eventually picking up a pair of the new kits and replacing all my old Prime warjacks, but I'd like to hear how tricky it would be before I start buying magnets. ;)

our jacks are the only ones that will be relatively easy to do it because we don't have weeeny little hands to magnetize...instead it's a huge fist so it'll be very easy to do...

the hardest part will be magnetizing the ball sockets into the shoulders because it's not a flat spot but if you can't overcome that hurdle you have bigger problems :D

well i was thinking about that, if you cant use magnets for the ball joints why not small disc shaped pieces of velcro? if the sticky backing wears out crazy glue it in there... this wouldnt work for the current metal units but the plastic ones should be light enough to remain together...

It just takes a little creative drilling for the magnets, nothing too bad.

Stupid, question, but i missed the info about how much the kit costs, anyone care to indulge that info?

Someone posted a video of a magnetized Khador 'jack box. Didn't look too difficult to do. My only worry is that the pieces seem to "spin" fairly easily at the connection points, which I could see being frustrating for me personally - to have to readjust the fist/arm whenever I move the jack and bump said appendage. But that's a personal issue more than anything else....

Yeah, I got the boxed set today, and was actually quite disappointed. Lots of sprue/mold lines stuck on, and WAY less detail than the metals. I cringed at the boiler and smoke stacks.

Getting 4 types in a box is cool, but what am I supposed to do with all the excess? Make a Jack with 1 devestator cannons? :P

make the jack so its arms are interchangable (magnets, velcro etc...)

this box is available now? i thought it wasn't til March/April...

Yup, avaliable now.

Magnets are going to be the best bet, even if the ball joints make it trickier.

Actually the ball joints should be easy to do after looking at them. They have indicator lines on them, kind of like a half way point marker. Should be easy to drill them out for a magnet. The kit I picked up had some pretty bad mold lines but nothing my dremal cant take care of. Over all im really impressed, however the stacks on my jack were a little miss molded. I am going to have to cut them off and replace them with something else, either an old jacks metal stacks or make some out of plastic styrine rod.

I'm tempted by picking up a few of the kits.
But I'm not sure, still don't like plastic, and I want Kodiaks, so I may have to do some conversion and scratch building.

We'll see.
I think if the new MoW unit is plastic and, even better, comes with components to make all 3 types of MoW, then I'll be more tempted.

I'm in the same boat. I want one more Kodiak and Berserker. If I pick up the kits it'll be for a pair of Decimators, but I'm not quite ready for them yet.
