Another Strategicon event: OrcCon 2010!!

OrcCon runs Feb 12-15, 2010. I'll be running a WM/H! event on Saturday, the 13th, starting at 10am.

From the Strategicon Events Page:

Using the new WARMACHINE MK2 and *tournament official* HORDES MK2 rule sets, players will create a 35pt and 50pt list. Players will battle it out with their 35pt list until the final round, where the 50pt list comes into play! SteamRoller 2010 rules (timed turns) and scenarios will be used. It's 2010, it's MK2 - let the good times roll!

* One faction per player. Merc players can use two different contracts for their lists.

* Standard convention prize kit - dealer dollars. To be eligible, you have to be a registered con attendee with a player #. Technically, non-registered guests are not allowed to participate, but I tend to be forgetful about checking ;)

* Using SteamRoller 2010 rules, with the exception to the single 35pt and 50pt lists. Turns are timed.

* There will be a 45-minute lunch break during the event.

* The most recent Jan 29th HORDES MK2 pdfs are official for HORDES players.

* WARMACHINE players must have the MK2 books or cards (or photocopies) to play with. The PDFs are not valid unless you have the accompanying material to prove their rules are still valid.

* As always, there's also a painting contest that runs throughout the con. Judging is done on Sunday and dealer dollars are awarded. Check out the web site below for details and categories!

After coming back from a Resurgence event, I feel like making the battles meatier and beefier.

The Strategicon site will be updated at a later time, but for now, it's going to be this:

OrcCon is happening this weekend!

Getting some questions in private, so I'll address them here as well:

The event's description has been updated, but not the title. It is not a 25-pt brawler. There needs to be more bloodshed, and thus more models on the table! You only bring ONE 35pt list, and ONE 50pt list. Other than that, I'm using Steam Roller 2010 rules and scenarios. Timed turns, 80 minute games for the 35pts and a 100 minute game for the 50pts.

There will be a 45minute lunch break after the 1st or 2nd round. I'll put it up for voting on the day of.

More answers:

WARMACHINE players will need the most recent cards and/or rulebooks to accompany their models. What this means is that I do not accept the Nov PDF print outs unless you can also prove that that specific card's rules are still valid. Bring the book. Borrow your friend's. Photocopy your friend's. I just need proof the PDFs are still valid if you plan on using them.
