This was a Temple flame guard type list I have been messing with in my head and I was wondering what everyone else would think about this list? I am brand new to protectorate and have yet to get any protectorate games under my belt so suggestions and comments are very welcome.
Army: 35 Feora
Type: Skirmish (1 caster, 35pts)
Points: 35
Feora, Protector of the Flame (*6pts)(either feora would work here.)
* Castigator (8pts)
* Guardian (9pts)
Choir of Menoth (Leader and 3 Grunts) (2pts)
Deliverer Sunburst Crew (Leader and 2 Grunts) (3pts)
Flameguard Cleansers (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts)
Temple Flameguard (Leader and 5 Grunts) (4pts)
Temple Flameguard (Leader and 9 Grunts) (6pts)
* Temple Flameguard Officer & Standard (2pts)
Rhupert Carvolo, Piper of Ord (2pts)

Not bad, I ran a this list recently,
eFreora -6
Vanquisher 8 (2)
Forge Gaurd (Merc) 8
Deliverers (half) 5
Sunburst 3
Exemplar 5
Bastions 8
Hierophant 2
Paladin 2
the melee units are all weapon master, so what they hit tends to die
The melee are slow but you have 16" fire AOEs to make up for that.
Most Menoth players will look at this list and shake their heads though, because it is low on tech.

It's late, and I can't sleep, but I feel like commenting on lists anyways, so!
I think it makes a huge difference if your playing eFeora or Feora. With regular Feora, you'll play very differently then eFeora. I'm going to assume it's going to be eFeora.
I don't feel that eFeora needs an Arc Node, generally if I'm on my feat turn, and I'm going to do it with spells, I'll probably charge and firestep (lighting more models on fire) before I feat, getting me line of sight.
I'm not a fan of the Castigator these days - since it's been changed so you can't charge and vent, it doesn't kill infantry like it use to. 2 Pow 16 fists is good, and throws are fun, but I find that a Vanquisher, reckoner, ect, is a better buy. All that said, I think i'd try something like this:
Type: Skirmish (1 caster, 35pts)
Points: 35
Feora, Protector of the Flame (*6pts)(either feora would work here.)
* Templar (8pts)
* Templar (8pts)
Choir of Menoth (Leader and 3 Grunts) (2pts)
Deliverer Sunburst Crew (Leader and 2 Grunts) (3pts)
Flameguard Cleansers (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts)
Daughters of the Flame(Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts)
Temple Flameguard (Leader and 9 Grunts) (6pts)
* Temple Flameguard Officer & Standard (2pts)
Rhupert Carvolo, Piper of Ord (2pts)
I feel those infantry choices will 1) Light things on fire, and 2) kill Infantry. So, the templar becomes a good choice - they'll have 11" threat ranges under Escort, hit like trucks, and be very hard to kill.
Now, as for the second list posted:
eFeora -6
Vanquisher 8 (2)
Forge Gaurd (Merc) 8
Deliverers (half) 5
Sunburst 3
Exemplar 5
Bastions 8
Hierophant 2
Paladin 2
This isn't bad, but I feel the Hierophant isn't needed - you won't be casting on most turns, so wracks would be better. Also, the Paladin feels out of place, so, I'd probably drop both, and take a choir and a vassal. That'll make those AoE's hit harder and more accurately from the vanquishers, and you'll be able to lay down 3 of them. I think that'd be drastically more efficent than the paladin and hierophant.
Just my thoughts, for what they are worth when I'm tired :)
*edit* Apparently my copy paste skills suck when I'm tired.

Yes, it does make a really big difference but when I wrote this list I was begin pretty indecisive about which one I was going to get first.
I agree efeora doesn't need a arc node the guardian was more of a fluffy choice, I like the model and it does have a few decent things on the spear, such as the unreliable pitch + 2 to hit on the spear making your charge more likely to succeed, it also has the utility of having a fist (But so do alot of other jacks)
The castigator well, yeah he was there for the fire proposes, but a Vanquisher might be a better choice
About your other changes, The Templars do give a decent hit, and threat. The drop in Flame guard for Daughters of the flame give more utility to the list and make it a bit more flexible.
Overall I like your change to the list though I still would have liked to split a guardian in somewhere. most people would probably say im crazy but I like the model and its got decent utility though Kinda expensive

Fluff is a great reason :)
I think another good option then would be to drop the sunburst, take a Guardian, Reclaimer, and a Vanquisher. You keep the range threat, light more things on fire, and you'll make up for the lost hitting power with more focus.

I think I will start off with the first list you suggested just because the new plastic kits are cheaper and you magnetize them with the different arms.
I think that your 2ndary suggestion is pretty good throwing in my original idea in to the mix. so I think that will be a 2ndary try for a Feora list after I get some protectorate models to play with.

Great thing about picking up 2 plastic kits with those infantry models is you'll be able to change out the caster and still have an effective list :) I'd probably say you could run that with Feora, Reznik, Sevvy, Harbringer, and Kreoss to great effect.
My only other comment, while I'm thinking about it, is that you might wanna consider a Devout at some point *IF* you have a heavy ranged meta - for example alot of retribution with Hydras, ect. But, time will let you figure that out! :)
