Deathripper army

So, long ago I tried to hook a friend into Warmachine by buying him a Cryx box set. It didn't take, but he did become facinated by Deathrippers.

Many years and deathrippers later I took to wondering, could he make a competative army in 2.0 with a pile of deathrippers?

In his mind I think he would enjoy one or the other Iron Lich and 14 deathrippers, but assuming some flexibility, how far could you go with this list? With what casters? How could this be made to work?

Let us take a moment and do something pleasing to the Dragonfather.

Any help is appriciated.

In short, considering a new mk2 environment - No, I don't think so...
In mk1, with pLich he would have an average army with quite of potential in assassinating squishy casters, but in mk2, with arcnodes at costs as they are, even the most sewn togeather army with any kind of mobile infantry to tie down nodes would destroy it...

Possible? Certainly. Especially with mortenebra's terminal velocity.

Deathripper x 6 (Just treat them as a fast unit, swamp n' chomp is the best bet)

Deathjack (For more jacks called death, and for cracking heavier targets)

Min Bile thralls (to clear infantry)

Gorman di Wulfe (de-buffs never go amiss)

Bokur (to protect against pesky eiryss')

Competitive? Not really.

I'd miss too many power attack options to take all Deathrippers

Bring the coven. I think theyd like having a pile of arcnodes to sacrifice.

I would have to agree with the Coven or pGaspy. Any spell assassination caster would work well. The thing that would be nice with the coven is Infernal Machine and enough FOC to give out to that many jacks. SPD 9 chickens and you can throw out Curse of Shadows for them to be effective POW 15 on targets. To make the Coven viable with that many nodes you need to have 2 Sirens and a Skarlock.

So the list that would not be very good but a little bit of fun to play:

yep, at it's purest. For some reason a lot of old threads popped up on top (must've changed the listing settings somehow) nevertheless, that list is hilarious. I'd love to see someones face when that one comes up in a steamroller lol
