In loving memory to the old boot camp here is a shot a putting most of the new and developing tactics articles in one place. In the interest of keeping things clean please keep posting in this thread to a minimum. Please PM me if you have an article you would like me to add to the list. I will also continue to troll and add as I see things that catch my eye ;).

I will try and give credit where credit is due, as noted by the shout outs by the articles.

As an aside, a couple of points:
1) Mutton and Gunmage in training have done an awesome job with article formatting, if you want a sure way in their format is the way to do it.
2) Mark I is dead, as a personal preference I would prefer to keep Mark I to Mark II comparisons out of the articles. This will hopefully become a tool for new players who may never have seen Mark I.
3) Call me names if you would like, but I do not plan to include articles or discussions along the lines of "Darius the Man Toilet is teh suxor. Playing him makes you lame". I would like my little library to be based more around the idea of helping people get the most out of models that they want to play, not hear people bad mouth them.

Problem with writing up Kraye is that he´s hard to catch in words. I´m pretty succsessfull with Old Jerry, but it boils down to board position of every available piece you´ve got (without the room for error some casters grant), awareness of situations and the thought process involved to combine his many features to a solution - plus getting the best out of Iron Horse. He ain´t an easy caster to play, and as such he ain´t easy to describe.

Especially on the internets, where theorymachine dominates and the subtilities of Kraye are impossible to show.

I'm of the mind that with a "new" system in place it may be time to let new blood lead the forces of Cygnar. I can't speak for The Glen, but Rampage requires a lot of dedication to "run" effectively and I'd like to see some of the "new" veterans step up and run things.

We're 2-0 and we seem to switch leadership from year to year. Haight won it first, then me and Bobby. We do it a third time with all new people and then we've established total dominance.

I've been requested by a few people do to a tactica on Kraye, based on my battle reports for the resurgence event. I'm not sure if this would be a welcome addition to these forums or not, but I have begun an in-depth writeup of the horseman and would be more than willing to contribute if that is agreeable. There is no formal write up process anything that says needed I no one has written an article for... As long as your post is thought out and not Kraye <3 <3 <3 (10 Chars) you are probably fine.

I welcome differing views on units and if multiple people post articles on the same topic I will update the camp Accordingly.

My goal is to put knowledge in the hands of Cygnarian's, from those playing the models.

That said I prefer to pull devoted articles and the discussions they start instead of just bits and pieces from posts here and there.

Problem with writing up Kraye is that he´s hard to catch in words. I´m pretty succsessfull with Old Jerry, but it boils down to board position of every available piece you´ve got (without the room for error some casters grant), awareness of situations and the thought process involved to combine his many features to a solution - plus getting the best out of Iron Horse. He ain´t an easy caster to play, and as such he ain´t easy to describe.

Especially on the internets, where theorymachine dominates and the subtilities of Kraye are impossible to show.

For the sake of completeness, is anyone working on a Darius tactica or does he suck that bad? Not that I'm volunteering or anything. Just curious.

Darius's tactica involves getting a whole bunch of jacks, in his tier list... and rolling dice.

He's really rather boring and one dimensional, not much else we can do with it, but we'll see. I may write one some day, though I'd welcome anyone who wanted to take it on.

His spells are rather specialized but I don't think it's that simple. A group of heavy 'Jacks is vulnerable to infantry swarm, especially if you grouped them together to make better use of Fortify. Next turn infantry runs out of combat and make room for opponents heavy beasts/'jacks, imo, correct usage of Sword Knights is kinda vital to prevent such kamikaze runs, as well as occupying/blocking space where enemy might send his faster elements that could make a shot against him or slam into 'jack that doesn't benefit from Fortfy.

I'm still learning how to play this game, so I'd love to hear how to run this character, perhaps outlying few tips how to get around faster enemy units.

By only doing a few I have come to realize it takes alot of time and effort to do a good writeup. Anyone can just start writing but it takes time to format the text to look presentable and put your ideas into a post. I have been working on a few writeups but life keeps us busy. Also keep in mind it took years for the old bootcamp to get to where it was when it was at it's peak. So really I can't speak for anyone else but all I can say is to have some patience.

^^^ This, also add in the fact that we have only known about all of our stuff for a month, and that new stuff is in a pretty constant state of dropping. Who knows what the future holds at this point.... I would have said the Centurion was dead... then came Starhkov and I started rethinking a jack that could nullify part of his feat turn... This will take time, and if you don't like the rate new articles are being added, write some of your own or attempt to stir up some conversation to help others develop articles. Think constructively not you doodz are lame slackers... I work for a multinational corporation, help my girlfriend with grad school, working on getting my degree, actually try and get out and represent the Cygnus once a week, and play in the occasional tournament. As veragor1206 points out these things take time :).

If anyone is reading this far, I am willing to help proof read, give ideas, help with forum code formatting etc. If you want help ask. I may lack the experience I feel is necessary to do quality of write up that I would like, but I am willing to help out where I can.

I once again, ask that anyone who complains about not having a tactica, write it themselves...

Worst case you just generate a good conversation and we end up with a good working theory. Or someone else does it and replaces a poor tactica. Best case, you write a good one and give new insight to some underused or obscure units or tactics. Either way, get out and write!

Don't mind what me, Mutton and others have done, if you want to write a Siege tactica? Go for it, the more the merrier.

As it is, I'm just getting into the game and don't have time to read both the rules and tactica on every model or the knowhow to put said tactica to best use.

Is there a list somewhere of ever Cygnar model rated by overall playability with a short description of why it's as good or bad as listed?

As far as I know, we don't have any such article yet for Cygnar. It sounds like a really good idea. I wonder if there's a way to do it democratically, so you don't have one or two people's opinions driving others toward or away from certain models. We could organize some sort of a poll that we keep open for a while to gather as much data as we can (it'll have to be better attended than some of the other "Rate X" threads I've seen), then have someone compile the data and present the finished article.

Sounds good, but one thing to keep in mind is that the active forum base is only a small percentage of the total Cygnar players in the world, and though we on the forum can reach a consensus on most models, there are a few that we simply cannot agree upon. As far as a starting off point for most new players, I think we could probably swing it.

I have done a list of strategies and listed what models are good or bad for that strategy. Cygnar is a bit too much of a swiss army knife army to be able to rate each model on each use, you have to break it down.
