I've never been a big fan of Zerkova. I joined Khador mostly cause of our jacks and EButcher. But I got the wrath book and came across Mr Wyshnalyrr, and my first thought came to the ice cream lady of doom. The thought of being able to cast a spell at +5 Rng really excited me. Guess I am just looking at getting other people's thoughts and ideas. Am I missing something in my giddiness that would prevent this extra long range on a spell?

Sounds about right to me.
He's very much a auto include for her in my eyes.

If you're running Zerkova without Wishnailer, you're either packing some Vanguards or you're just doing it wrong. He's an attachment that specializes is in helping people cast spells, particularly offensive ones. Zerkova likes casting a lot of spells. That extra two inches of range on everything puts her spells in a much better position. It not only keeps her safer, but it makes her more dangerous, and some spells are more practical. Casting Freezing Grip on a unit of SPD 6 reach infantry from 13 inches out means that the "can't run" part of the spell suddenly became significant. I can't describe how awesome it is to nail something hard with a Razor Wind from 15 inches out, rolling 4 dice for damage and dropping the lowest. The extra spell range is also excellent with the Ghost Stone, which, combined with the S&P effect for one spell, means she's excellent and popping things your opponent wants hidden in the middle of his army. Razor Wind will waste Eiryss, while all the blast damage rolls on Twister get the damage bonus as well, making it hit more like a bombard than a pillow.

It's 4:30 in the morning and I'm ranting now, but yes, Wishnailer is perfect for her. Her power skyrockets with him at her side. More importantly, she's more fun. You get to cast spells more often, easier, and with better effect. An amazing solo for a lot of casters, but Wishnailer was basically made for Zerkova. Have fun with him :D

+1 to this.

I'd say you either run her Hunting Wolves Tier 4 or with Wyshnallyr. I'm still list-building with her so I'm not going to comment on which is better but I'm going to try Hunting Wolves first. I really like the idea of 2 Vanguards and cheaper jacks.

Haven't had a problem running her with 3 jacks and a koldun lord. I agree Wyshnallyr will help her a lot, but since there's no model I'm sticking to Bad Santa for now. Definitely ups her power, but she's far from unplayable without him or Hunting Wolves.

Cheers,

I've only played Zerkova with several variation of a tier 4 hunting wolves tier list(with a LOT of success I've only lost 3 games with but won more than 12 with her) but Wyshnallyr makes me want to try her out of the tier list. With the free upkeep she can have 7 focus for spells/allocating each turn (depending on the usefulness of banishing ward) plus her artefact this gives her 8 focus to play around with. With reinholt and Wyshnallyr she can cast a super accurate spell at a good range.
As a side question, is it possible to field a war dog and not attach him to any model, since wyshnallyr will already be attached to Zerkova, I only want to dog to have the combination of watcher, the drakhun's counter charge, and the war dog counter charge.
And when is wyshnallyr suppose to be released?

Wardog entry says it starts the game attached to a friendly warcaster, so I read that as having to be attached to someone. Could be wrong, but think that's how it goes!

The dog's an attachment, so no.

Zerkova has certainly gone from a heh she is nice to holy crap! I am certainly going to need to read up on her for some tatical ideas. Kind of a shame on the nerf to bulldoze.
