I have always liked Haley as a Warcaster, even after the nerf to Temporal Barrier I enjoy the idea of a long ranged, gunline type force and I think both versions of Haley fit that theme, so I developed the following list with that in mind.

The idea is to form a gunline behind the dug-in Trenchers and use superior ranged firepower to cripple anything that gets too close. I had a few options that I was considering during list design that I would like some opinions on.

First, removing the Cannon Crews and the Thunderhead in favor of a pair of Defenders. I would need to drop 1 more point somewhere, but that shouldnt be too hard to work out. They offer harder hitting, long ranged firepower but they lack some of the melee capabilities of the Thunderhead and the shorter ranged burst, which I like. Not sure which would be better.

Second, instead of the Cannon Crews, the Stormsmiths, and one Grenadier, adding in a unit of Precursor Knights and their UA to stand in front of Haley. I could also afford a GMCA at that point. The list lacks melee capability in general so this could be a way around it. I'm not sure if I like the idea, but it was bouncing around in my head anyway.

Thoughts?

**EDIT** Adjusted the list slightly as I had the incorrect points for Trenchers. Subbed in a GMCA instead of Eiryss, and used the extra points to add Gorman.

Their points did? I'm going off the beta cause I havent had a chance to pick up the cards yet. Has anything else changed points wise that I should know about?

There were some minor rules changes but the only points change know in the Trenchers.

Also, at 100 points you can sneak a second warcaster in there. :)

Ahh I did not know about the point changes. I'm reletively new to MK II so I have not had a whole ton of experience with list design yet.

As for a second caster, I know I can add one, but I'm not sure that I want to, or which caster to add if I were. Reading the MK II rules, i see that you can do a 100 point game with a single caster limit, and I thought I would try that before trying more complex caster combinations with a new faction.

As the list stands now, what do you think?

I would dump the Trencher Cannons. They're only good vs lighter targets and you have that easily covered with the units you have. A melee unit might be a good choice. Something to stop fast Stealth units from just running up and engaging you. Also something like Vlads Windwall or menoth Safe Passage really shuts down alot of your list. Aiyanna & Holt would let you bring a unit of Long Gunners inot play against them. Probably your biggest worry is the heavy jack wall. You have enough firepower to deal with infantry hordes but while damaging big CRAs aren't very efficient. Also, enemy smoke like the High Reclaimer is going to screw you over oretty badly but that's just a weakness of a heavy shooting force.

OK so what if I ditch the cannon crews and one unit if Long Gunners for some melee support. That gives me 16 points to play with, so I could fit Storm lances and Katherine Laddermore, or I could do Precursor Knights and their Officer/Standard Bearer and have some points left, or I could leave the Long Gunners in, ditch Gorman, and take a unit of Stormblades and their Officer/Standard Bearer. If I go with Option 3, I could opt to leave the Long Gunners out and take a Stormclad 'Jack marshalled to the Officer.....
