Hey guys, I have a Gators army and I'm looking to change how I play them...

I like Calaban, but I've found that I have a hard time capitalizing with his feat.. I was VERY impressed with the bog trog ambushers when I used them last time... They actually managed to take out a Blitzer... and each time I've put them on the table, they have really done well.

So I thought to myself that it might be nice to put Iron Flesh on them and use them as a front line tarpit. I usually go beast heavy... so this list is a bit of a branch out for me... Since Calaban has Parasite, I think hard armored targets could still be taken out... Thoughts?

Calaban, the Gravewalker (*6pts)
* Bull Snapper (3pts)
* Blackhide Wrastler (9pts)
* Ironback Spitter (8pts)
Bog Trog Ambushers (Leader and 9 Grunts) (8pts)
Bog Trog Ambushers (Leader and 9 Grunts) (8pts)
Farrow Bone Grinders (Leader and 3 Grunts) (2pts)
Gatormen Posse (Leader and 4 Grunts) (9pts)
Gatormen Posse (Leader and 4 Grunts) (9pts)

Interesting list for Calaban. I tend to run more beast-heavy to take advantage of Parasite against Warmachine. Do you own WE&SJ? I really like them with Calaban, and usually give WE a Spitter too. A 6-pt AD Spitter is pretty awesome.

I do like Bog Trogs but I think 2 max units is a bit much (remember, no Iron Flesh with Calaban but they are sick with Carnivore). Also, if you are playing in a timed format, they can take a lot of time on the turn you Ambush them.

I do think putting them on the front line instead of ambushing is viable. I'd probably go with a max and min unit though (min as the ambushers).

Ohhh yeaaah... Ironflesh isn't on Caliban.... Oops.

I do have WE&SJ, but I guess I just don't like how they play against Warmachine...

I usually play this list (or some variation thereof)
Calaban, the Gravewalker (*6pts)

and I was thinking that perhaps the reach infantry would be a better match against infantry lists because of the volume of attacks... and that that synergizes with Parasite, also..

The last list seems too beast heavy.
4 heavies will simply generate too much fury especially since snapper puts up SG every turn.
I would consider SE instead of 1 wrastler. If you are a brave man you could move a spitter and use the savings to buy a snapper for SE.
