pirate unit attachment question

Going with the rule on pg 32 about a unit having only one of each type of attachment:
Are the sea dog crew riflemen and the sea dog deck gun "same type of attachment" since they are both weapons, or can I include them both in the same sea dog crew unit?

The Deck Gun is a Weapon Crew (a type of unit), not a Weapon Attachment.
The Rifleman is a Weapon Attachment.
Mr. Walls is a Unit Attachment.

These are all different things. The latter two may be added to units. The former may not be.

Correct.
To be specific, though, both the Deck Gun and Sea Dog Crew are units.
Mr. Walls is a unit attachment for the Sea Dog Crew.
Sea Dog Riflemen are weapon attachments for the Sea Dog Crew.
Nothing currently attaches to the Deck Gun unit. It is a unit by itself.

Note: You can field a Sea Dog Crew unit (with Mr. Walls and Riflemen attached) in the same army that you field a Deck Gun Weapon Crew unit.
