As the topic says, I'm really interested in getting back into this game (it's a freaking blast!), but I'm a bit confused about the non-collectible format. Can someone give me a basic rundown?

If, for example, I play Cthul, can I just buy the box with the monster I want, and it'll come with a pre-determined selection of units? Does that mean each faction has 5 seperate boxes to go with them?

The move to non collectable just means that as your example with Cthul you can buy a DMZ box which contains 2 regular monsters from IchompNY, 1 Morpher and something like 12 units, 2 Installations, and a "Monument" from IchompNY Cthul gets the insurance company I believe. The thing is it's all set all one faction, and clearly states on the Box, this contains Lords of Cthul.

That's the only truly non collectable move they have made. There is a 2 player starter for RISE but that's pretty sort of Blind because it's 2 monsters and forces from unknown factions.

So right now DMZ has 1 box for Each faction. You could get 2 DMZ's to get 4 installations, but you will have extra monsters.

Ah, so this is just a non-collectible way to get the IChompNY and later stuff. What about for the new factions- the Tritons, for instance? Will the Triton box just contain two pre-set monsters?

There is no Monpoc Now box at this time. DMZ is only fro IChompNY and All Your Base.

Oh man, that sucks. Ah well, at least it's a start in the right direction. Thanks!

yep. we're expecting it to be a year before the next batch of product. Some are predicting it'll be a battle-box in a similar format to the current one, but for Now! figures. Then it'd be several months before a block-2 DMZ, that would have figures from sets 5 and 6. Pure speculation.

Meantime, you can buy armies from Team Covenant. You buy a monster, pick your army "level", and tell them what you already have and they build you a force (for tritons, if that's your poison)

Okay- I'll look into that. I'll probably pick up the Voltron stuff first, just as an easy way to get my Monpoc juices flowing again :).

Thanks guys!

Yeah, I can't wait to give them a try. I think I also need to find out which maps I'm missing. Have to make sure I have them all :)
