Starting Menoth- 25pt Reznik list, need advice on new faction

I collect Khador and am buying the starter box to add to it. I was going to go halves with someone else but changed my mind. I want to use the starter box as a base for the army with a few adittional purchases to go to 50 pts eventually. Right now the goal is 25pts.

Is that a solid start for Menoth? I personaly like it. Just wondering if the Reckoner jack would be better than the Vanquisher? Also not having used lights before is Repenter any good or should I look for other lights? Advice appreciated.

Can Reznik fund 3 jacks? I am not familiar with him as a caster. I agree with the above poster - if you run 2 more or jacks, you need Choir. They make good jacks amazing, and help them reach combat safely.

i run him with a guardian, vanquisher and repenter at 25 points, alongside cinerators and hierophant...so far, i havent really felt the loss of the choir/vassal as he seems to be doing fine...mainly lose due to my inability to learn from mistakes and poor positioning XD

With Reznik I find repenters to be... meh. Now Shieldhands McPunchyfist (Vigilant) has served me very well.

Yes, Reznik can run 3 jacks. I use his tier so have 6 wracks 20" up the board at the start of the game... with 3 closer it won't be as easy but just don't frontload your jacks with focus. Reznik is a one man assassination run; the army is the delivery system

Hehe - fellow Khador player here who was also lured in by Menoth after purchasing the 2-player battlebox. Reznik was the 'caster I liked as well (him and pFeora). I'll never claim to be an expert on WM but here's my thoughts

It's possible to run Reznik with three jacks but my preference is to use two heavies. Scourge looks good on paper but is only okay. He's slow, focus hungry and the spell cancel ability conflicts with Reznik's Witchhound power. The three heavies I tend to swap between are the Reckoner, Vanquisher and the Crusader. If you feel like having a character jack in your list then I highly recommend Fire of Salvation - cast Iron Aggression on him and enjoy.

The Cinerators are fine but I made the switch to the Bastions and have found them to be better - Reach gives them a better threat range than the Cinerators, Sanguine Bond makes them a bit more survivable and they are melee beasts once you cast Ignite on them. The points saved from dropping the Repenter can be used to add a min Choir and a Vassal - two great additons to a caster that already offers good support to his 'jacks.

The Reckoner isn't necessarily better than the Vanquisher, they just do different things. The Reckoner destroys tough single targets, the Vanquisher handles blocks of infantry. Don't dismiss the Crusader - it's a solid melee beatstick for just 6 pts. That said (as I alluded to above) for 9 pts Fire of Salvation is a monster for Reznik.
As you expand the list then consider adding Wracks and a good infantry tarpit - TFG or EE's both work well.

Thanks for the replies, I am planning on getting the vassal solo and a Choir box. Trying to stay away from infantry tar-pit (I have an IF heavy Khador list). I woukld like to try out a Menoth brick list with cinerators/bastions.
