So, finally tried it out last night, it's good stuff! Here's Epic Alexia's horse that had a nice game right down the center and along the neck.

Under the primer you can still notice the seem, but for a first ever attempt with the stuff I'm more then pleased. Also once paint hits this it won't be noticeable.

The things I've noticed with it is that once you open the pot, it starts developing a skin on it, so you'll want to have your brush at least a little wet. To apply it I take the brush with the green stuff on it and load up the gaps with it. After that I take a wet brush and smooth it out. Since it's water soluble, all of the excess dissolves into the water and wipes away, super easy.

The other huge bonus with the stuff is that it dries amazingly fast. After 5 minutes I was able to take my knife and file to it to smooth it out. This seems like the best thing to use for gap filling and I highly recommend it! :D

Good to know - I'd been considering picking up a pot of the stuff. Sometimes, I just don't want to mix up a batch of putty just to fill in a little area (I'm looking at you new Gorax sculpt with your detached lower jaw!)

Thanks for posting. I saw this the other day and had been wondering how well it worked. I may have to pick up a pot now.

where do you buy this wonderful concoction?

you get it from that other miniature manufacturer, who released this product partly in response to the scathing critique of their new 'fine' cast miniature line.

granted, most of the paint and hobby products that mini manufacturers use are under license, so if anyone could dig up the original supplier, the stuff could probably be obtained cheaper from the source, and you wouldn't pay the mark up for the branding.

He means Games Workshop makes it.

vallejo has a 'plastic putty' which seems to be the same idea, different company, and likely cheaper

And it comes in a dropper bottle, so no worries about having a pot dry out. It's good stuff, I like it better than the liquid GS.

This stuff is pretty much just squadron green putty in a inferior container as far as I understand

I'll have to check those out, didn't know other things like this existed.

Been considering this to.

As mentioned, Vallejo makes a simillar kind of substance called Plastic Putty. Bear in mind though that is a bit more, how should I put it, chalky or dry. I love the stuff and use it quite often, very easy to sand and somewhat easy to work with (you need to get the hang of it). It does come out the bottle more or less in the form of spackling paste.
