25 points of stereotypical Warmachine.

Well, as the topic says, Im juggling with a 25 point list to get some games in with some new players in my PG area. Using the Retribution's most typical force combined with the most classic style of list...Warcaster Killin' assasination!

So here we go:

Garryth -5
-Chimera +6
-Chimera +6

Dawnguard Scyir +2
-Manticore +8

Arcanist +1

Mage Hunter Strike Force (5) +5

Mage Hunter Assasin +2

So Garryth gets the 2 Chimera's, his Gallows spell combined with 2 Arc Nodes should easily be able to get any Warcaster or 'lock out in the open. Their Apperation ability gives the list a bit of a paranoia factor, never quite being certain where to expect what.

The Scyir is used to Marshall the Manticore, his Attack Re-Roll makes it quite well marshalled using the Combo Strike, adding that crucial focus point by an Arcanist for a +3 Str. Alternatively the Covering Fire can drop a good AOE to dictate or deny any outnumbering tactics against the elite force.

The Mage Hunter Strike Force and Mage Hunter Assasin make for good pressuring units to get in that caster kill or take apart stuff guerilla style.

Honestly, every time I have ran an arc node with Garryth, I have regretted it. Even when the node is the Phoenix.

The reason is because opponents aren't dumb enough to give you room to get a gallows off unobstructed, and also because if you don't roll well on the Gallows distance it's not terribly useful.

I am dropping my Phoenix for a Manticore and im going to go with that. Also, for delivering Garryth, I run Lanessa Ryssell (sp).
