35pt Denny list new to cryx

So aside from a handful of 15pt games, I'm new to Cryx. I want to get started off by learning Denny then going from there. Skarre was the other 'caster I thought about starting with but she is so fragile and has to play very close to the front lines IMO. Not sold on Gaspy either yet.

IMO find points for tartarus if your running banes, he makes them SO much better. Also aside from the levi, it might be hard to capitalize on your frat turn.

I don't think you'll be happy with the Leviathan and Denny. Some folks take him; lured by the Crippling grasp DEF reduction. You still have to get Crippling Grasp on your target and then the Leviathan will soak up 2 focus every turn to make use of ROF3. I have played the Leviathan but find him to be a good support jack and not a main offensive piece.

Denny really likes her focus for spells. I'd recommend a good melee jack - Nighmare is an excellent choice for Denny.

I agree on Tartarus. If you are going Banes then go Tartarus.

If you have to find points for Tartarus then the Satyxis and Sea Witch can be swapped out for a full unit of McThralls. Denny makes cheap troops effective.

Dude its solid. In my opinion, you dont need as many arcnodes now in Mk2. Two should be fine. Doesnt have enough focus to rely purely on spell damage.

I think the Nightwretch and the Defiler are great on the feat turn, and the Leviathan is gold. I agree that its a support peice, but where else are you going to get 3 POW 15's at 2 focus? Its too good to pass up.

I would recommend Parasiting a jack then pounding away on it, while using the Crippling grasp on the unit that is a pain to deal with, that way the sprays (from Defiler or Denny) and the AOE from the Wretch can take care of them.

The Satyxis are a fantastic - a good option and can be very difficult for opponents to remove without significant effort.

With the spare 4 points from dropping the Deathripper you can get Tartarus in there. He is well worth the investment.

Overall a solid list, similar to what I played with last night.

One thing to consider is fitting in a Skarlock. Denny needs that additional ghostwalk or whatever each turn.

For bigger games, she loves the Dj more than most casters also. I guess because I use Scourge almost every turn.
