The animus can only be used once per turn now... no more keeping him around just to boost for auto hits on melee locks. Well you could still do it once at least.


side note:Shredder got -1 def!!

Yep, but that's hardly worth two points, since most of our warlocks can't one-shot the warcasters that require an outhit ... maybe eThagrosh against Caine, but that's hardly a justification for the change. And the Shredder took one to the shins as well :S

Our lessers are certainly "lesser" now... "sadface" indeed

I'm actually okay with this change. Rhyas and Abby don't typically want to use this, because their crit effects are such a big deal. And with eThagrosh, I find I don't melee very much. I'm much more likely to spray or just drop Scourge on something.

Since Rhyas got MAT8 you mean. Abby still had enough use for it, and the Thagies. Sometimes you sacrifice the crit for the hit.

2 points for a once per turn use and marginal other abilities? Not interested. The only solo hunting we had issues with was the incorporal type, and yet they took away our only unit based magic weapons. Again thanks PP.

i wonder if we scream enough will PP change them? sadly i think thats only for stuff thats too good or if people think its to good. ala rebuke and gorgers respectively

Really? The only two warlocks I've ever used it with were the Thags and it was never pinicle, nothing a normal boost couldn't solve anyway, and the Harrier it'self could only ever use it once. To me it doesn't seem like all that much of a change really.

What I wouldn't mind seeing though is a 6" range on it. If it's going to be once per trun, we should at least be able to put it on other things.

Before the animus was really too good. For the same cost as a boost you auto-hit. What's the point of every boosting when you have a harrier? It would have made more sense at 2 fury, but then it'd be useless for the harrier itself. This is a compromise.

doesn't impact my Legion playstyle whatsoever, and I'm fine with paying 2 points for either.

I'd actually been kind of hoping they'd made it the Angelius' animus, and given the Harrier something totally new.

I dont see how it harms the Harrier much really. So you cant spam it anymore...big deal. I can certainly see a few uses for it even at only once per turn. At 2 points its still decent for a solo hunter and I think it will probably be included in 50% of my lists.

Side Note: Shredder nerf is a very very :( for me. Regardless, Ill still try to run em as per normal. I personally have always loved my Shredders and Im not gonna give up on em yet (plus I own 10!).
I had an idea to run Vayl with 2 Carniveans, a Raek, 5 Shredders, a Shepherd, a Forsaken and a Harrier. Im still going to try it out...dont think Ill be as disappointed as you might think (but I could be wrong!).

It's sad, but still liveable. What it means is that the shot that you really want and need, generally the charge, is a guarantee and the rest are playing the odds like everyone else.

I'm kinda sad. I don't think shredders needed -1 defense. In mk1 I tended to take 2-3 quite often. Now it an animus battery. Still works fine for that.


I can live with the harrier nerf. Its main goal was to be a target for spells anyways. In the last 10 games I never bothered to use the animus anyways.

And Rabid only lasts during its activation. That's a big nerf for eThagrosh.

I don't get why the Harrier got nerfed over the Shredder. I have never seen any used in MK2, but I sure see lots of shredders.

Shredders lost a lot compared to mark 1.
I don't think you'll see many anymore. They had a use in swarms in mark 1, and a drawback that also cautioned against using many.

I will find a way to Shredder spam if only at the lower pt levels. They die too quick now, they used to be annoying with 14 DEF but at 13/12 with 13 HP they will only be speed bumps and solo killers.....wait they were that before but now they are lower speed bumps and WILL be killed as opposed to maybe get killed.

One on the field for the animus is still worthwhile. 2-4 on the field for solos and slowing down the enemy and to end up getting killed to get fury back on an aggressive turn. They are not even feat useful anymore (see eThags).

......leaving now to find a way to Shredder spam again......this will be tough.....to the DeLorean!

I wish shredders could run without forcing. then they would be useful. My problem with them has always been their fury load for just getting in position. Now their other problem, losing an aspect and being useless after any hit, is exascerbated.

Most things I face tend to one hit shredders if they hit anyway. I relied on the the 14+1 ani+2 cover/conceal= 17 def to keep them alive before the rabid charge. I also used to use absy have PG on my carni, have my protector make them immune to KD and throw them at the enemy heal it with absy so it can attack effectively then proceed to tear things up. But that idea doesn't always work. bad dmg rolls and they die by the throw.

I think I shall change the topic of this thread to be Lesser beast nerfs.

aha. I just realised. This is how they fixed the vessel. they made the lessers mch less likely to be taken on their own, so they could drop the number of tokens it takes to create one.

Hmm maybe put a vessel right behind a group of legionnaires, have incubi in reserve, and a couple of shredders to pop out from the vessel as the legionnaires incubi, or the crew itself die. recycling at it's best
