View Full Version : Thagrosh and Succubus......??

I have the urge to try out Epic Thagrosh as I haven't played him in awhile. I like beast heavy lists, but I'm not fully into Shredder Spam so much.

Here is what I am wanting to try:

Thagrosh, the Messiah
Nephilim Soldier
Shredder
Shredder
Shredder
Shredder
Carnivean
Typhon
Blighted Nyss Shepherd
Blighted Nyss Shepherd

The issue is that it would be nice to see the Succubus in action with him. To do that I would have to downgrade a beast, (which I don't want to do) or drop Shepherds.

If I drop two Shepherds for a Succubus and have no Fury management, is that just instant doom?

anyone have any input on Succubus vs two Shepherds?

I feel they serve different roles, so its not a 1:1 comparison.

Also, at this point I believe it hasn't been clarified if they're fearless. I'm not entirely sure if I'd run that risk every turn...

I meant in the context of the above list - can you get away with no Fury management so that you can fit in a Succubus? Is that even remotely worth it?

Why not drop a shredder or the carni to a scythean and add the succubus? Try it and if you like it keep it.

I agree about dropping the Carnivean to a Scythean and adding a Sucubus. Scythean is probably better for you anyways. You are lacking a little in punch with this list and gives you more threat range and better hitting power to a heavy. Sucubus can allow you cast excessive healing on either Thagrosh or Typhon for free which has always been the problem with his animius in the past, it was play defense cast animius or play offense and don't. Now you can be more aggressive with Typhon and Thagrosh.......Winning!!!!

Another vote for turning the Carnivean into a Scythean. You've got sprays a plenty already, as well as access to two defensive animi (tenacity and excessive regeneration), so you don't really need the carnivean in particular.

Getting the Succubus in there would be pretty big, though, as it means free Massacre on something each round. Scytheans with massacre are happy scytheans.

Actually, Massacre is pretty nice on eThagrosh too. I generally find that he wants to slaughter 2 things a turn to put clouds down, and if those two Rapture attacks are costing no fury, that's a win-win. Not to mention the extra inch of movement to give you the exact positioning you need to get both hits in and still be in a good position to gain from the clouds.

I think I'm going to have to fit a Soldier into my eThags list now.

Hmmm, I don't own a Scythean so it makes that difficult. I could proxy and see how it goes.

Cut a shredder and get the succubus in here.

Yeah, I think that may be the best starting point. I'll drop it from 4 to 3 Shredders and use a Foresaken model as my Succubus.......

Excessive healing is range self. She can't cast it for them.

I wouldn't drop the carnivean personally if you want to use the succubus, as spiny growth is the premier animus to use with her in my opinion. That or massacre.
