I've found a couple NMM tutorials (at jenova and one Ring). One was more of a "theory of" article with little how-to, the other listed colors (several of which I don't have) with no theory or how-to.
My goal is to produce something like this breastplate: http://www.paintrix-miniatures.com/gallery.php?sub=Privateer%20Press&group=manu&img=111 (http://www.paintrix-miniatures.com/gallery.php?sub=Privateer%20Press&group=manu&img=111)
But I'm having issues matching colors and technique. If anyone has better NMM tutorials and a recommendation on colors, I would truly appreciate it.

You know, I was wondering whether a technique like JTY describes here (http://www.privateerpressforums.com/showthread.php?t=304) would work for you... Something I've been wondering for a while as a "cheat" way of doing NMM.

you can try GW snakebite leather - blach - white. Technique is quite hard to explain/ My advice - try to "copy" someones NMM and understand the idea first.

Snakebite leather is good for gold, but Jen's Haley's brass chestplate seems greener than that. I think I'd start with P3 battle dress green as the main color, and then add other things until it looks right. For highlights, I would add pale yellow, and for shades I would add dark brown.
Edit: Also, be sure to notice that one of the things Haley did very effectively on that model was adding a bit of blue in various places to show the brass metal reflecting the blue insignia.

Is Bloodtracker brown an exact match for Snakebite, or is it a shade off? I've noticed that even being a half shade off on NMM can completely destroy the effect.

I don't have any snakebite leather at the moment, but looking at bloodtracker brown and using my recollection and digital representations of snakebite, my guess is that snakebite leather is a bit lighter and a bit yellower than bloodtracker brown.
