I've tried a few Darius lists but this one interests me greatly;

Darius
-Stormclad
-Cyclone
-Sentinel
Journeyman
-Hunter
Stormblades w/ UA

The 'clad/blades form the core; buffed with Fortify for the Clad and arcane shield for the blades, they fear little from enemy infantry. The blades can do a number weaker infantry with the 3" Aoe ranged shots, threatening out 14". Their melée is of course also a kick in the arse. The Sentinel's job is to be a repairable health bar for Darius, fend off solos and light infantry and slam 'jacks for free with Full Throttle. The Cyclone is primarily to control enemy movement which is extremely effective when combined with halfjack mines. He's also responsible for two-hand throwing heavy jacks out of control radii, onto infantry, etc. The journeyman
feeds the hunter focus and keeps AS on what needs it, depending on the enemy.

Now, concerns; only 1 dedicated melée Jack in a Darius list makes me nervous, but with an ironclad/hammersmith/defender in his place I'm far short on anti-infantry. The JWC feels underutilized as well;a Hunter almost never needs both focus points.

Any suggestions?

the cyclone can pull double duty if you need some infantry gone. jsut plant some focus on him and spray around the field with his 2d3 +3 bought shots 5-9 shots is mean vs infantry since he'll hit a good majority of the time.

There's the idea of swiching Hunter for a Lancer...maybe.
In that case,Junior takes over sentinel, lancer goes to big daddy.

No stealth removal...

How about ...i know Stormclad is there for the free focus-but still:

Ol'Rowdy
Cyclone
Ironclad

Junior
Senitel
Stormblades+UA
Stormsmith

Rowdy has the same SPD,but better MAT and ARM. Conter chare etc can be used more often then not.
Tremor can be used in a pich- if Cyclone and Darius use Fortify the'll not hit the dirt...just ideas here.

If you have looked into Darius's tiers, there are some pretty brutal things you can do with 35 pts. The restrictions are that you must field two units of sword knights (doubt may have two units but still) and field no lights. Big restrictions, but now all your heavies cost 1 point less...

Darius (+5)

Centurion (8)
Centurion(8)
Cyclone(8)
Defender(8)

Sword Knights (4)
Sword Knights (4)
Unit Attachment (0)

35 Points

Pretty heavy centric, but man could this hold a point (I think someone else may have posted this exact list in another thread, so credit to whomever ;-)

My primary concern about this list would be incorporeal models. Darius will be your only source of dealing with incorporeal.

Also, Sentinel is good, but Charger would be better. I've found that Darius doesn't have alot to do with his focus 2nd and maybe 3rd turn. A charger will soak that up to good effect. Also, a pow 12 hammer isn't too bad for full throttle purposes.

a trick that i have found rather usefull when dealing with stealthed stuff with big D is run a halfjack up to the stealthed unit and have darius shoot the halfjack, (usually in the back) catching the stealthed low armored dudes in the blast. its like a faster more unpridictable halfjack mine, although not as strong.
