View Full Version : Proph's Magnus' Agenda

Well since everybody is posting their collections, I might as well too:
Talon; there's a Mangler and renegade in the same scheme.
A second renegade is blue and gold.

Some of Boomhowler and Co.
Boomhowler in Macintosh tartan
Trollkin in Cornish tartan
I like the Magnus model a lot! I think the little touch of blue clothing is a nice subtle addition. It gives the piece some color impact, while still keeping a restrained, realistic overall palette.

Lovely work on the troll skin. You got an army shot?

Great execution on the Mercenary scheme on the 'jack and excellent work on the solos and Magnus! They all look amazing. Being a descendant of the MacIntosh Clan, I especially love you Boomhowler model. The Tartan's are both very well done and, most importantly, accurate.
Keep up the good work!

i like your Kell Bailoch...

They all look nice but the Magnus really stands out for me. I especially like the detailing on the face and the arcane effect on the sword.

Right, it's been a while since I've painted any PP stuff, but here's my latest addition to the army:

Love that Orin model - some really nice attention to detail on that mini. Super job.

I still love the older stuff, and the CUtthroats are looking just as good. You're really good at bringing out the expressions on faces.
How do you do you flesh tones? (and the scar tissue!!)

Skin advice amongst other things here:
Do all Kell Bailochs have that scar on the face? I have never noticed it before. Awesome job btw!

That's a really good good job, it is exactly the kind of result I would like to achieve on my own Magnus Agenda army. :)
Could you tell me which colors you used for Magnus armor and cloth please ?

The tartans on the trollkin are complex and well executed.

TIme to bring this thread back for a bit. Here's Gorman di Wulfe:

Really love the paint job on this guy (and all the others) - especially the ever so slight Cygnaran influence to his tabbard (or whatever it's called). I may be stealing that idea :)
05-04-2010, 11:07 PM
Well in Gorman's case the tabard is purple and yellow. I was trying to hint at his Llaelese origins, but Orin and Magnus both have the small bit of blue on them to show where they came from. Kell's model didn't really lend itself to doing that.

I had noticed it on Orin first, then Magnus (when I first saw your pics), but, I'd swear Gorman was also Blue and Yellow ;) Guess I need to adjust the monitor :P
Can't wait to see more of your 'jacks!

Some very nice pieces there good work

Really like how your Magnus turned out :)

Well here's Magnus' epic version:

I was going to comment on the top models - but won't bother now. eMagnus is AWESOME - such an amasing amount of detail really well picked out (and painted on in the case of the face). Brilliant - looking forward to more.

Incredible work on eMagnus - the face and sword are extremely well done!
08-03-2010, 04:30 AM
Damn...makes the paintjob i'm doing on my eMags seems pathetic by comparison.
In a really talented way. :p
08-03-2010, 04:48 AM
Wow. That version of eMagnus is stunning! I wish I could paint a face that looks that expressive. You'll alo have to let me (us) in on how you blend your blue like that, as my eMagnus is still awaiting the painting table (some day eh?).
I was discussing the other day about having a game of Warmachine, I'd surely like to get pummelled if it's by a model that awesome. Hehe. ;)

First off thanks for the complements everybody.
I'm using Citadel colour and the blue is Regal Blue, highlighted by mixing Enchanted blue and finally by mixing some rotting flesh. Some of the really dark bits of blue are done by applying a super thin glaze of Dark flesh over the top. The skin is best described in the link in post #11.
@insanedeano you have been pummelled by models this awsome ;). Last time you came to the Hod with n0signal (although I think you won one of our games). I've been itching for a game for a while now, but people are playing other stuff atm. Up for a game anytime.

The face on eMagnus is as nice a bit of painting as I've seen. Magnificent! It's honestly like a portrait or something.
The rest is awesome too.

Every freakin' model in this rocks my face off.
It's gone. I can't see....my face is gone due to being rocked off.
01-16-2011, 01:24 AM
Did you flip EMagnus' sword around?
01-16-2011, 09:27 AM
Wow, back from the dead! Well I did get Alexia for Christmas! ;)
Thanks for the new compliments and yes, I did turn the sword round. He's holding it back-to-front in the original sculpt.
I'll get some Alexia photos up in my Pain Train thread soon.
