Hello, I'm new to this forum. I've been playing Khador for a couple months now with pSorscha and a couple games with pButcher. Now with mkii finally out I plan on playing with eIrusk, any advice on a good list?
Here's all the models I own. I've got a few ideas for a list, but nothing special.
eIrusk
Beast 09
Destroyer
Juggernaut
Kodiak
Spriggan
MoW ST
IF + UA
Greylords
Manhunter
Yuri
'Jacks: I think a spriggan or a destroyer would work well, from what Iv'e read, but what about a decimator or a devastator?
Troops: I want to go with a MoW theme, but I've been reading that maybe the Demo corps isn't the way to go. Any Ideas? What about the bombadiers?

how many points? eIrusk is an infantry caster... out of your jacks id pick the destroyer so you can keep fire for effect on it... how about
35 points:
eIrusk
>destroyer
>kodiak
greylords
IFP+UA (assuming 10 IFP)
MoW ST (assuming 3 MoW)
Yuri
using models you have, the destroyers the target for FFE and the kodiak because you ran out of troops and its focus efficient with a good chain attack and smoke.

Thanks for the help. I'm thinking probably 35 points. I do need more troops any suggestions? I'm thinking of getting the demo corps, but I've been reading that the great bears might work even better. And then there's the bombardiers when they come out...I also want to get the decimator, think that will be a good candidate for FFE?

id get the great bears, but otherwise wait untill next month when you can see the tier list... eIrusk is an ironfang so i dont think you can go wrong with the great bears, theyre awesome anyway :)

I'm making a full list now for 35 points so far it looks like this...
35
eIrusk +5
Destroyer or Decimator -9
MoW St min -6
GB's -5
Widomakers -4
I have 11 points left and I'm not sure what to do with them, I intend on buying new models.
Any suggestions?

could be. i think the general consensus, tho, is that weapons with aoe's are better targets for ffe, since it boosts all blast damage rolls as well. destroyer would be a better choice of the two. mortar would be even better since it has a larger aoe.

What if I stick with the decimator and just add a mortar for FFE? I feel the decimator will do better against enemy 'jacks.

sure. ffe should certainly work fine on the decimator though i haven't had a chance to proxy it yet. you can always hot swap it too, but it could get costly focus-wise since to make the most out of it on the decimator, i would think you'd want to make sure to spend the focus to buy the second shot.

From what little play-testing I've had, The Great Bears are an amazing addition to any Khador force. I think they're an excellent 2nd wave unit that can stay back with Irusk until it's time to send home the final blow.
And don't forget that they're Tough and Steady, meaning any time they would die they have a one-in-three chance of just saying F*ck you instead.
I agree with Thomwill that the Decimator kind of wants all of eIrusk's focus, there might be a better option out there. Can't go wrong with Beast-09!
All hypothetical optimizing aside, this game is mostly about getting a feel for the models that you like to play with. If there was a black and white way to win, we'd call the game Rock-paper-scissors.

i think the only issue with beast is that you can't bond him to eirusk. hes an awesome jack, but i like him better with pirusk. superiority on him just insane.
also, all units are tough under eirusk. great bears do kick @$$ tho. they are definitely a second wave unit, as they can be a bit squishy.

So In my never ending quest to find a good list here's what I have finally come up with.
eIrusk +5
Spriggan -10
IF + UA -7
GB's -5
Mortar -3
Field gun -2
Drakhun -5
Yuri -3
How's it look?

Looks excellent I'd drop drakhun for 2 reasons.
1. He's 5 pts for a single attack + counter charge.
2. He cannot charge through your other troops.
I'd drop him and take some widowmakers, or other ranged support. Or max out the IFP + something else.
Standard strat: cast Tactical supremacy on MOW, move from 7-11 a turn until you feel like bullets are going to start coming, use AoD to deny them the charge. Battle lust your charge and reap tears.

Sounds like a plan. I'll swap the drakhun for some widowmakers. Thanks! Now I just have to go buy some models :D

It's been a while now. I bought the Khador force book not too long ago and I've been reading it and checking out the tiers. I'm trying to recreate my last eIrusk list I devised, but using tier four. I don't really like the other tiers.
So far everything is pretty much the same...
eIrusk +5
Behemoth -13
GB's -5
IF min + UA -7
I'm thinking of adding the rifle corps for ranged support and I could bump the IF to a full unit, but I'm stuck on what else I should add to my list. Any ideas?

the behemoth is great with irusk. only problem is that since hes a character jack, you can't bond with to eirusk, and its a pretty good bond, so i think you'd want to make use of it. spriggan seems to be a pretty popular choice with either version of irusk. i don't have the book in front of me so i'm not sure what his jack requirements are.

Oh gotcha yeah that is a bummer. Didn't think about that. Well if I were to go with a behemoth even I couldn't bond, what other suggestions would you make about units?

Unfortunately in Prime mkII it states you have to meet the requirements for all troop requirements and all previous tiers. So you'll still have to worry about meeting the requirements for tiers 1,2, and 3 to use tier 4.

I see, didn't know that. Well then foregoing all the tiers, any suggestions? I'm just trying to come up with some varied lists for eIrusk.

TWO MORTARS!! GO BUY TWO MORTARS!!! Seriously, upkeep fire for effect on mortar G. It shoots. Eirusk casts ffe on mortar Y. Mortar Y shoots. Upkeep next turn. etc.... So you swap it back and forth. It makes single wound infantry die in droves. If you do that, I would take the spriggan because of its targeting flares.

Max out your squad sizes. If you go with IFP or MOW, make sure you squad size is maxed.
Otherwise from your playing, is there any problematic Casters/Units that you need help with?

Thanks. That's what I was thinking, but I wasn't too sure. Um I haven't got really any playing time with eIrusk. I've been pretty busy. Still sorta new, just working on finding a list with good synergy. If you have any suggestions on tactics and things of that sort for eIrusk that would be much appreciated.
