IF you can't see the direct correlation between How Miller choose to represent a Conflict between East and West in 300 (removing all characteristics of the Spartans that he wanted to represnt in the Perisans as evil/bad/un-western) and the direct statements he made about his belief that a same such conflict is going on in real life that he made DURING his promotional tour of the film, then I'm not sure what kind of evidence is ever gonna convince you. Miller states it in Black and white himself WHILE he was promoting the film. And that is simply a coincidence that the false conflict he promotes in the film mirrors 1:1 the conflict he went on about in the interviews...

Miller's real life rhetoric directly mimics his representation of the conflict he chose to present in 300 in almost 1:1 correlation. Thermopylae was at best a military gamble, a fools errand that war council fully expected to fail. They it to Leonidus because the spartans were just prideful enough to accept the hopeless task. It was far from the the great defense of "hope and reason for the West" that Miller wants it to stand for, but he needs this symbolic analogy as that is how he sees the current West vs. "Other" clash that he talks about in great detail in the NPR interview and elswhere. The symbolism created by crafted dialogue and the characteristics he chooses to include AND exclude from both the spartans and Persians directly correlates to such a world view on Miller's part. Just because people are distracted by a 'pretty" picture does not change that a message is still being delivered both consciously and subconsciously...
