Hey, Thanks for the info. Kinda what I figured/feared. I work for a local Kansas City office of a construction software company (Command Alkon) based in Alabama. Been here for about two years, before that I worked for a bank software company up in Nebraska. KC-wise, I guess there's been some increase in tech writer jobs. For a good part of 2009 it seemed like there was nothing being advertised on Indeed or Dice.com or Monster. But the last couple months there's been jobs out there, although mostly contract work, only a few permanent. My company's total size is less than 500, might be closer to 300 as we've gone through 3+ rounds of layoffs (our office only went through one round, two people, but we were pretty small/lean to begin with). More local to KC, the bigger companies are Sprint, Cerner, Garmin, and HR Block (I'm sure there's others I'm forgetting). (continued in next PM)
