5 Necrotechs? Really? I don't run any at 35 points. Her list is almost too fast for them to keep up. At 50 points, a couple are useful but at 35 you really need to be thinking about assassination. Mort can't really play any kind of attrition game.

I'm also not feeling the DJ and Leviathan at 35. They take up too many points. I much prefer a Harrower, Reaper, a couple of cheap Slayers, and some assassination bonejacks like a Stalker and Scavenger. I can't play Mort without a Scavenger.

The Deathjack is the only character jack that is allowed throughout Mortenebra's theme force.

I would agree with the necrotechs being swapped. I'd like a harrower in there but to be honest id swap the leviathen, just because i love the reaper so much.

And maybe a stalker/scavenger in place of the necrotechs for assassinations.

What I would do to your list:
Drop the Leviathan (+8pts), and all the Necrotechs(+5). I've never had them be able to keep up with the 'jacks, and I am epic fail on trying to get repair rolls.
Add in Harrower (-9pts) and a Stalker (-4pts).
If you proxy them out for a couple games, they will prove their own value. promise.
Keep the Reaper, for no other reason than the more Reach you have, the better.

^^ This, and I feel your pain on the repair rolls, if I had a dollar for every 1 I've rolled on a repair roll I would never have to work another day in my life.

However throwing a scrap thrall into a bunch of enemy infantry is always good for a laugh ;-)

Because I only own 3 Slayers, and I'm not getting anymore anytime soon.
IF I could, I'd totally rock:

    Morty & D
    7x Slayer
    2x WWSiren

    just for shiggles.

Dont underestimate the potence of an arc node to Morty either. I only ever use it once in any given game, but Void Gate has done wonderfull things for me early on when the other side is still only thinking about running 'Jacks to get them into position. VG says no to that, and you might even tag a few infantrymen along with it for good measure. Not to mention the joys of having a fast little model with Sustained Attack forcing the other side to think hard a turn or two before they thought they would have to. And if my Deathripper makes it out alive, then its all bonus to me.

    Because not everyone is you.
Because there are only so many jacks that Morti runs at full capacity.
    Because Quality is Quality.
Because flexibility is as powerful as redundency.
Because not everyone owns 6 slayers.
Because not everyone wants 13/17 jacks.
Because players want longer threa ranges.
Because they are options that Morti maximize and put to use better than other casters.
Because Thresher Overrun is too fun.
Because Deatjack Overrun is too fun.
Because Bone Jacks are pretty good too.
Because there is limited meaningful space in areas you'd want to control/press forward.

I'm sure I'm missing some more.

I'm not saying you are 'wrong' Heccatomb, I'm just noting that there are reasons that simple is not the key.
What works for you, may or may not work for the OP, but to question ithe preferences of "everyone" seems bonkers

point taken yes saying everyone was probally a bit far.
And there would be heaps of more points you could make about not keeping youre list simple, they all have merit.

    ps. i love bone jacks
