Default Need some feedback on a couple of Legion lists. "No Angelius" lists!

First one is using pVayl, focusing on the Carnivean chassis beasts.

    Legion of Everblight
    Standard Army
    PCs: 50 / 50
    17 models

    • {00} Vayl, Disciple of Everblight (0 / 6 WB)
      • {12} Typhon
      • {10} Ravagore
      • {09} Scythean
      • {08} Seraph
      • {02} Shredder
    • {02} Strider Deathstalker
    • {02} The Forsaken
    • {02} The Forsaken
    • {06} Blighted Nyss Striders
      • {03} Blighted Nyss Strider Officer & Musician

    Legion of Everblight
    Standard Army
    PCs: 50 / 50
    28 models

    Legion of Everblight
    Standard Army
    PCs: 50 / 50
    28 models

    • {00} Rhyas, Sigil of Everblight (0 / 6 WB)
      • {12} Typhon
      • {10} Ravagore
      • {08} Seraph
    • {02} The Forsaken
    • {01} Blighted Nyss Shepherd
    • {01} Blighted Nyss Shepherd
    • {05} Blackfrost Shard
    • {06} Blighted Nyss Striders
    • {08} Blighted Nyss Swordsmen (9 grunts)
      • {03} Blighted Nyss Swordsman Abbot & Champion

Assassination is my main focus. Lots of stinky dirty Khador in my area, so whenever I face them I feel the first list will be my go-to. The latter one just has Rhyas shredded up by def19/mat 9 Kayazy.

Not too familiar with Vayl, but it seems I want to focus completely in my battlegroup for her spells.

Rhyas I have had more experience with. She is a decent assassination based caster with a luck dependent(yet devastating) win condition. She does not have any defense or armor debuffs, so I feel that the BFS are absolutely necessary with her. Striders are without the UA because I feel like I need the UA for the Swordmen more. Striders will be used to pick of solos and harass the opponent's army, forcing them to engage in the middle. Swordsmen are Weaponmasters with decent MAT, with cleave and overtake they can eat through units. (Khador units will be out of reach(Stupid Iron Flesh!)) Typhon will provide another decent assassination vector, since the feat+slipstream+Ravagore animus+rapport+chance of crit pitch means I can get surprise assassination vectors on the warcaster. The only time Rhyas will be getting any real action is to pick off important solos to sprint away.

What do you guys think? I am not using my twin Angelius until I get some fancy bases for them.XD

I like your list Rhyas list a lot. It's got many strong pieces and synergy. I'm not sure the Striders, without Reform, will operate as well as you would like and would suggest thinking about switching them and the Forsaken for min squad of Hex Hunters w/ Bayal. You'd still have a Stealth AD force but one that operates differently. Another option would be to drop the Forsaken for a Deathstalker so they could at least Swift Hunter around the table. Other than that I like the pieces and feel it SHOULD play well at what you are trying to do, though it requires a lot your pieces operating well to be most effective. Also, as a color to taste suggestion, I would recommend finding room for a Shredder. Tenacity is just so good...

Thanks Joseph! I am contemplating dropping the Striders for 2 Deathstalkers and a Shredder.

Any other thoughts? Or did I say everything with my first post? XD

That seems a more economical way to get all the pieces you want to interact well. Using your army as the win condition is really a smart way to go when using Rhyas. I don't find myself assassinating with her very often. It's more likely to come from her army, tbh. I've found through some painful trial and error that the later I can activate her in a turn the better and you have that inbuilt. Keep in mind that you'll probably want to make room for a Suck in a few months or w/e they put it out.

EDIT: One situational synergy with the Seraph I can suggest makes Rhyas horrible STR a bonus. You can use Slipstream to place Rhyas 2" forward but within 1/2" of the Seraph (Flight makes this much easier), and make an auto hitting PUSH for another inch. Due to the discrepancy between their STR you actually can't fail on the push roll. I've used this little trick to get Rhyas the extra 1" you'd normally need to cast Dash for, leaving her with a full boat of fury for that last ditch assassination run. It's really more of 1/2" or 3/4" since you need to position Rhyas at an angle, but it's a simple way to get more threat. IT DOES REQUIRE PRACTICE, though, so watch out in competitive play!

Ur correct sir. My mistake. For some reason I keep thinking Push is an action and not a melee attack. Yet another good reason to run a Soldier or Bolt Thrower with Rhyas.

I've been thinking of getting a Bolt Thrower simply for it's animus.

I hat doing so because it reminds me that I think Rhyas needed pathfinder innately, and I don't see why giving it to her would make it Top Tier or Broken.

Who knows, only the Dev Team does.
