    Default Vessel of Judgement, show me yours please.

    My basecoated halfway-assembled Vessel of Judgement is standing on my desk at the moment and I wonder if I will ever get my thumbs loose to start painting it (especially after I've painted one unit of KE with Senny and a full unit of EE with UA and Senny, that was kind of daunting).

    How did you guys do the job? Did you paint it in sections or finish the whole model colour by colour?

    Also, please show me the good stuff to give me some inspiration.

    I haven't painted mine yet (probably this weekend) but this is how I am going to approach it.

    -Assemble the base, organ, back plate, and pedestal. Paint those up.
    -Paint wheels, then assemble.
    -Paint jabronies and chains last.
    -Base it.

    Here you go

    While painting I left the wheels and dudes off and painted them separately. The rest was all painted together.

    Its an intimidating model to be sure (soo much filigree) but once its all said and done it is truly stunning on the table.

    Mine is still a WIP, making progress though, should be (hopefully) done by the end of April.

    Hey, Gday, did you ever get that thing based? Can we see the finished product?

    I'll have to get pics up later, but I painted the main block of it (the altar, tower, and carraige pieces all together,) the chains and wheels seaperately, and then the two dudes seaperately. After paint, glued it all together (pinning helps a TON on this.)

    Getting it based was delayed by other projects, but I have a couple of 120mm Dragonforge bases incoming as we speak, one for each of my Vessels. Once I have them in hand I'll be mailing my second off to an undisclosed location where a team of secretive Menites will gut it and put LED's inside...

    Well, that sounds interesting, I haven't seen much in the way of conversions on the VoJ yet. Lots of Gun Carriages, half a dozen Spider Striders, but no Vessels. Looking forward to seeing some.

    @Ashdown X:
    Sounds about the same procedure I'm aiming for! Upload the pics when you're done!

    @Gdaybloke:
    Wow, wonderful blues and gold. Looks magnificient.

    @Invaderzahn:
    Very nice and effective use of black on your model! (I also like the base )

    Hoping to see more Vessels soon! (I just gotta finish my Daughters so I can start wrestling my own VoJ soon enough...)

    Hah-HAH! I finnaly got all of my 10 thumbs out of my behind and started painting the Vessel!
    So far it means painting the gold parts on the lower part of it. Not much, but at least it's a start!

    How are you guys coming along?

    Its interesting to note that only one person has the model praying so far, with everyone else assembling him to be preaching instead.

    Here is a lousy picture of one I did as a gift for a pious Menite:

    Well...mind is primed and ready, the Vessel itself is, anyway. The two guys and the chains will be the last thing I do, as the Vessel itself...*gulp* It's intimidating.

    Bit of thread necro here, I wanted to add mine though. I held off because I had entered it into Lost Hemisphere's First Annual (but probably not) "Make Something Amazing" Contest. And... I won!

    One thing at a time! I have been working on one, and at its current rate of progress it should be done sometime in June...

    ...2016.

    Probably right around the time they issue an actual extreme resculpt.

    Not bad. Did you use vessel parts? Good you put the original next to him because the size difference didn't arenas much at first!

    No, I scratch built the torso. The pelvis is the regular avatar torso and the hips are his regular shoulders. The sword is scratch as is most of the shield. The smoke stacks are the regular ones but in a new configuration.
