Venethrax List

I haven't used Lich Lord Venethrax yet, but i recently came up with a list and was wondering what people who use him think of it.

Venethrax
Deathjack
Skarlock
Bane Lord Tartarus
10 Bane Knights
10 Bane Thralls
The Withershadow Combine

35pts.

Multi casting Soul Harvester all day on banes and tartarus, and Withershadow upkeeps Lamentation.

It looks ok.
Do the Bane Thralls have their UA? If not, go min with UA instead.
I would try to get an arc node and reaper instead of Deathjack.
Reaper pulls in enemy beasts for Venny, while Arc Node is to take out solos like Forsaken to nom nom fury from further away. A Siren with the points saved to run 1 of the 2 jacks.

The UA on the banethralls is so worth it. DJ is good but it's already a pretty elite list so you could maybe swap it for a Seether and use the spare points to bulk out the list. An arc-node or two usually doesn't hurt a Cryx list any (well except for pGoreshade).

Another vote for Bane Thrall UA. You get the same amount of attacks, two of which have a higher MAT, tough, free standing from Knockdown, and an extra inch on either side to move around with.
I'd lose the DJ as well. At 35pts, he's a third of your army costs in one model, and I have rarely ever gotten him to begin to make those points back.

Drop Deathjack for the Bane Thrall UA and MALICE. She is infinitely better than a Seether in this list due to her ability to pull warbeasts in for Venethrax to feast upon (not to mention the ridiculous synergy harpoon/possession have with the Combine).

You actually lose 1 attack (4 Thralls instead of Banner and Officer), I agree with everything else said.

Thanks for all the replies. I like the UA. Would probably use that instead of the full unit, but i do like the deathjack. i don't know if i'm quite willing to take him out yet. I may run it in a few games with this list before i decide.
