Beastly Conversion

I have just started collecting Khador models and was really taken by the Beast-09 picture in the book. I know multiple people have converted this so this will be nothing new or earth shattering.
I am not doing it because I do not like the model (It looks pretty darned cool, though not sure why it seems bigger than the base model it is supposed to have been upgraded from!) Not am I doing it to "save money" as if time is money this conversion will cost like 3x what the model would. I just love converting and building stuff!
I went a different route than the picture int he book. Adding some extra armor and spikes, but not keeping it the same on both sides. like field repairs and jury rigging effects.


I built the base separate and will put the two together after priming

OK here it is all finished and based. I am still trying to figure out if I love the icicles or not Done with blister pack plastic and built up with water effect gel.

I like, but maybe better without the ice on the axe. It just does not flow to me, but that could just be the photo.

Very nice conversion!

I like the creativity of having ice on the axe, it implied that ol' Beast has been on quite the hike through the tundra! It looks a bit weird with icicles on only the axe though. If you're looking for ways to make the model even more awesome consider adding a few icicles to some spots on the 'jack himself.

Really sweet conversion though, and I absolutely love the base.

I put the ice on the axe because it was there in the picture (And on the "official model) I think it is supposed to be his custom made weapon working over time since it freezes on a critical!

Thanks for the kind words guys I imagine the conversion will end up drawing more than its fair share of incoming fire! Something about putting a model on an imposing base makes it LOOK scarier!

Nice work on the conversion. I really like the work you did with the axe. I've used a similar solution with my own Beast-09 conversion. I also really like the way you created the ice but I woulden't use it on the axe-head but on the base. I also dislike the ice on the studio-model so it has nothing to do with the way you created yours.

Conversions in generall take my attention. Yours really stands out trough creative working and some nice ideas, keep it up, i like it!
