Default Magnus the Traitor, Tier 1

So I was thinking of how to make my mercs good, I have played with what I have for fun, and am ready to start playing a bit harder (I'm constantly getting thrashed atm, which could have something to do with skill, but that is another story :P).

Right, I want to make this 25pt list, and I was wondering if it is a good idea.

    Magnus the Traitor
    Mangler
    Renegade
    Renegade
    Long Gunners (10)
    Gorman Di Wulfe

So I am trying to get a hard list, without buying too much. With this I have to buy the long gunners and a renegade. However, i can replace a renegade with a nomad for the time being.

The other Most Wanted Models I have are:

    - Boomhowler
    - Mangler
    - Vanguard
    - Nomad
    - 2 Talons
    - Mariner
    - 2 Freebooters
    - Buccaneer

So is this the best way to go for gettting a hard-ish list?

    Cheers,
    Scott

Most Wanted likes Steelhead Halberdiers and Heavy Cavalry for bigger games. A Vanguard for Magnus isn't a bad choice either, but with the Renegades and a Mangler you don't need it. 1 Mangler is plenty.

For solos, you will want Kell for bigger games, or to sub Gorman out for. Orin and Orrik are also great, but they might change by the time they see print. Stannis is essential for really big games, but below that I think he is a bit pricey.

Boomhowler works nicely with Magnus. The Talons and privateer jacks aren't all too great for Most Wanted, since you already have a nice-sized battlegroup and your 4th jack should be a Nomad or Vanguard, if you take a 4th.

The standard 50-point T4 Most Wanted list looks something like this:

    Magnus
    -Renegade
    -Renegade
    -Mangler

    Kell
    Saxon
    Gorman

    2 Full Steelheads
    Min Steelie Cav

+ whatever else you like. These are the important pieces though.

Assuming that you want to move up to 35 points before jumping straight to 50, like a sane person, I would grab Orrik and two min units of Halberdiers. This gives you Pathfinder aplenty, a decent number of bodies, and qualifies you for T4 bonuses.

Yeah, I like the Mule alot with Magnus now as well.
Also might wait and see what the new steelhead riflemen add to the mix.
I think they could be a great fit in the list.
I follow no kingdom's flag, fear no ship on the sea, and bow to no master. Blood calls for blood, and I will spill much more in the days to come.
