Very nice. I like the coloring, and the face looks fantastic. Sorry to hear it didn't get in the magazine.

Beautiful artwork.
Only complaint I'd have is that her shins are way too skinny. They look like little twigs that could snap carrying her weight.
Other than that, the background and the subject are expertly executed.
Yep, little too skinny on the lower legs, doesn't look like it would support her.
But that face is enchanting!! I love the white lock.
"We hear that there are tumults and riots inRome, and that voices are raised concerning the army and the quality of our soldiers. Make haste to reassure us that you love and support us as we love and support you, for if we find that we have left our bones to bleach in these sands in vain, then beware the fury of the legions."
Could use a little work on anatomy and the metals, but everything else about it is fantastic! Good job!

Thank you guys! I was trying to stick to original design as close as possible. Probably overdo it - made limbs too thin.
Is it metal armor? I thought it's kind of bone or something like it. Not as reflective as metal.
I appreciate your compliments and especially your thoughtful critique.
As noted, her body is far too thin, which really shows on her shins, but even on her elbow you see how thick that plate is, which would force me the viewer to assume she's like 50 pounds before gearing up and is about to die of starvation. Most of the armor came out nicely, the coloration is good, I'd bulk up the chest piece a bit to fall a bit more in line with the thickness of the rest of it, creating thin areas when the rest is so clearly thick again lends to that illusion that she's a stick figure, since that chest plate is almost the size of what her body should be (And thus she's either thin, or that is the only part of the armor that's thin, which is illogical given it's the most important part of the armor). As far as what it's made of, it's never been clearly stated anywhere what it is, but it is likely just painted Iron / Steel, or some sort of more advanced and modern polymer Ios figured out how to make.
It looks great, my only problem with it is she looks too nice! haha Ravyn is a bit meaner looking, you actually made her (cuter?) then she really is. I like it a lot, It almost looks like Ravyn's younger sister just enrolled and is playing with her sisters armor, again the thinness is there, but have you seen some of the official art? look at the menoth Cinerators and bastians, how wide are their shoulders!? I can forgive the thinness easily. Very nice color and art in general (the color is what takes it into fantastic levels.)
I like the pose, coloring, and basic concept. Like everyone else has already pointed out, she needs some calves (badly). Also, a little distressing on the armor might help. And possibly have her look in a different direction; just like television, the suspension of disbelief is hurt by looking at the camera.
The biggest thing I notice is that Ravyn sticks out like a sore thumb relative to the background. The background is a big blurred (like morning sunlight) but in comparison the lines on Ravyn are very sharp. Also, the light source in the background is behind Ravyn at about 45 deg from the horizon. The shadows on Ravyn's armor, however, look to be from a light source that is to Ravyn's left, at approximately the same angle. There are some sunbeams drawn shining down at that same angle, which also confuses me.
Edit: Looking at Chris' concept art, her lower legs are narrow. This is balance by the fact that there is a curve to the exposed leg that indicates that the calves are behind the armor. Your piece has the leg go straight up into the armor.
Very good work, overall, though. Keep trying! Bravo.

I like the art, though I would agree that she might need some shins-after all, where are those damn mage hunters if they aren't behind her *Runs away*
