    Default Tavitin's Mercs

    Ignore the misshaps, i'm already covering them...

    I really like red bases.

    1 - Prime: white (spray)
    2 - Basecoat: (Coat D'arms Gold)
    3 - Shade: Dark Brown Super Shader (Coat D'arms)
    4 - Drybrush: Gold (same as before, the supershader darkened the gold so i could highlight it with the same paint)
    5 - Basing: Red Varnish mixture
    6 - Shade: brown+gold+ivory (hardly noticeable on the pics)

    Comments appreciated.

    LOVE those red bases! They look like floors at a fancy casino (or how I'd imagine floors would look at a fancy casino). Very cool! How'd you get that effect???

    EDIT: Is it problematic, from a gaming standpoint, that their hands are not on the same way? I still don't understand the rules very well (even though I've been playing this game for several months...) but I think there's something about weapon locks that might need the weapons to be in place the way they are on the card. But I could be wrong. Again, I love these guys (the driller is my favorite model from the Warmachine side of things. I just painted one for my mum. I think they're just adorable, really.)

    I don't know the name of them in english (brazillian here), but i mixed these three products:

    http://www.artcamargo.com.br/images/...ilex%20517.jpg (i believe its called Tinted Varnish, or tainted glass something. Orange is the collor)

    http://images.livrariasaraiva.com.br...0&A=-1&PIM_Id= (Any sort of fire-red PVA paint)

    http://www.azaleanmodels.com/ekmps/s...k-wash-armour-[2]-143-p.jpg (Black wash from Coat D'arms)

    i mixed all of them in the following proportion:

    5x Orange Varnish
    2x Black Wash
    3x Fire-Red Paint

    I've put the mix in a separate recipient. Everytime i have to use it i need to shake it for some time.

    Apply it directly and carefully. (it stains and it's very icky)

    Blue = Grundback Gunners

    Red = Grundback Blaster

    I have to paint the bases red like my Driller above, doing that right now, actually.

    Might I suggest taking some putty and filling the base holes?

    It'd look better and more finished that way/

    Interesting style. As Schnauzerface suggested, the Driller with the arm swap IS a problem. Weapons are required by the rules to be on the proper arms, so that when the arm is damaged the effects can be properly applied and when opponents use power attacks like Armlock, they won't be confused.

    Unfortunately,this means that the model is illegal to use in sanctioned tournaments, though it should be fine for friendly play, provided you point it out to your opponent.

    @Javaman

    I glued the arms way before reading the rules completely. I don't think there's gonna be a Sanctioned Tournament in Brazil anytime soon (lol).
    I always try to remember my opponents that their arms are switched.

    @MidnightFox

    I'll see what i can do.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    The Gunners are warjacks that used to work for a certain Cygnar noble that wanted Blue everywhere. He ran out of money and sold the littles Gunners away.

    The Blasters are Warjacks that got repaired by Khador Mechaniks. The gobbers (being little-witted) painted them with the Khador colours (all jacks look big when you're that small).

    Hey man, buy 3 more battle-boxes (1 Warmachine, 2 Hordes) and you could be the first Press-ganger in Brazil! Then you could set up sanctioned tournaments! ;D

    I don't know if its my brushes or my shaking, but i have the feel my painting looks dusty or trembling (not clear and uniform).

    The bases look amazing, especially on the first 2 jacks/ The Gold/Brass look of them and the red marble surface really compliment each other well.

    At first i was painting the bases just to hide the smudges, but then i used the 'wrong' flask and ended up being quite cool.

    Thanks all.

    So i was gonna wait til they were painted, but hell i'd like to know your opinions on them.

    Here are my CONVERSIONS (Parts from Warmachine, Warhammer and D&D Miniatures)

    I can make these into Manglers, Nomads and Mules:

    One has pin-holes and magnets in each arm. The other has Magnets on one arm and a pin-hole in the other.

    Right Hands for the white-primed Jack.

    Right Hands for the Unprimed Jack

    I really like the Modded mule/nomad but as a question what is the body base? I like the heavy solid look of the stand in's.

    Maug from Dungeons and Dragons Miniatures:

    I used Dark Eldar Talos masks (Games Workshop) and some Warmachine bits to make them look different (i hate twin models).
